Just Like Grandma Used to Make: Tat-A-Girl Jewelry {Review and Giveaway} #tatagirl #giveaway

Every girl loves jewelry right? I love unique pieces that really make a statement and are comfortable to wear. We, at MBP, were contacted by a woman who was looking to spread the word about her new Etsy shop and beautiful, unique jewelry and I was super excited to get to partner with her. Etsy is one of my favorite places to shop, so this was right up my alley.

Opening in late 2014, Tat A Girl Jewelry is an Etsy shop, owned by Melanie, hobby farm owner and mother. One might wonder what tatting is, and Melanie is more than happy to share her love, talent, and knowledge of it. Tatting is essentially the art of tying knots, combining knots through chains and rings to create beautiful items, that dates back to the early 19th century. Melanie learned to tat from a friend and hasn't stopped since then, using a combination of shuttle and needle tatting to create her Tat A Girl Jewelry.

Melanie loves tatting because it is relaxing, can be transported wherever she goes, and she can do it at any time. She chooses colors based on what catches her eye and has a large thread collection, she also loves to do custom color ideas as well.

Tat A Girl Jewelry is fairly new to the Etsy scene, but has already had 6 sales. She has earned a 5 star rating for the items she has created, with reviews stating "gorgeous", "fine workmanship", "immediate shipping", "amazing", "beautiful detail work", and "so pretty and comfortable to wear". Melanie has a really good thing going so far it sounds like.

Melanie asked me to browse her shop and see what caught my eye, she also offered to make something in a different color if I found a style I liked. She even commented that would be great because it would give her another excuse to tat, this woman loves it and you can tell.

I found this really pretty piece and asked if she could do it with navy.
Melanie got back to me quickly and asked if she could do navy with some other color combinations. I told her I trusted her and let her get to tatting.

A few days later, Melanie sent me these two and I told her they both looked really great and to send me her favorite. I also sent her my wrist size so she could get the best fit for me.
I was so excited to see the finished product and wondered which one she would decide to send.

A quick, sweet handwritten note thanking me for doing a review, THANK YOU Melanie for the opportunity!
Tat A Girl puts a lot of little extra touches on their items like tissue paper and ribbon wrapping.
What is going to be inside?
Ta-Da!
Melanie chose this beauty to send me, I love it!
This bracelet uses high quality thread with a variety of blues and greens, creating a very pretty pattern.  It measures about 6" long and 1" wide, and includes a adjustable chain and lobster clasp. It retails for $30.

S even can wear it, she was so excited we could share it.
This bracelet it so comfortable, really soft, and lightweight you almost forget you have it on. It easily pairs with jeans and a tee to help dress me up just a little bit. I have gotten quite a few compliments about how neat and well done it is, I have to agree. I also love that it reminds me of my Grandma and Great-Aunt, both who loved to make doilies in the same fashion.

Tat A Girl Jewelry is unique and so well made. Please be aware that this jewelry needs to be stored away from dust and heat and if dirty or shape is distorted, hand wash in mild soap and lay flat to dry.
