Hipoglos Skin Protectant Ointment {Review and Giveaway}

C is still in diapers and we are really keeping our fingers crossed, that this summer, we can move into potty training. One of the things I dislike most about diapers is skin irritation, which can lead to diaper rash. C has had her fair share of rashes, including a fairly nasty one this past weekend. Over the years, I have used a variety of products, some better than others, and as luck would have it, we recently received a product that would help us in our time of need.
Hipoglos, is a skin protectant ointment, now available in the US, that has been Latin America's leading skin protectant for over 60 years. This product has been a staple to treat and prevent diaper rash, act as a skin protectant, protect chafed skin, and help seal out wetness. Hipoglos is made of Lanolin, Zinc, Vitamin A, and Vitamin D, which combined help form a protective layer against the causes of diaper rash and skin irritations.

Hipoglos is currently available in the US through Amazon and select Walgreens stores. The retail price varies between $5-$10 depending on where it is purchased and size of product. These prices are very comparable to other ointments and creams I have used.

Our Hipoglos package is here!

"What could be in here?"
In our package we found an information card with a cute purple hippo. This card also contained all of Hipoglos' social media outlets, customer product quotes, and some basic product information. We also were sent an information sheet with company and product details. The third item in the package was a box containing Hipoglos Skin Protectant Ointment.
Hipoglos has two active ingredients, Lanolin and Zinc, with the main purpose of skin protectant. It also contains a handful of inactive ingredients. Our package is a 2.2 oz container that can be purchased on Amazon.

We used this with C when she had a recent bout with diaper rash. It went on very smoothly, it is a creamy ointment, not runny or greasy. On her next diaper change, she looked much less red and seemed to be more comfortable and what was remaining also wiped off fairly easily.  I usually only apply ointments when I notice irritation, but I definitely feel that Hipoglos is a great new option for me. My only complaint is that the fragrance is pretty strong, I usually gravitate towards unscented products for the kids, so this one is a bit much.
