This time of year, personal health and fitness are on my mind, big time. With the temps warming, I will want to be in skirts, sun dresses, and shorts, and dare I say- my bathing suit when we hit the beach again in a few weeks. I am fairly modest and conservative, but I definitely still think that I can rock a cute bathing suit or cute shorts, respectfully and tastefully. I try to live an active and healthy lifestyle. I'm not saying that I don't have days or weeks that I totally throw all of that out the window- I have zero willpower when it comes to sweets. In fact, I just returned from a long weekend at the beach, and enjoyed a few too many bakery goodies while there. I knew I needed to do some fast damage control.

In the exercise department, nothing works better or faster for me that Pilates. In two weeks, I can have my body toned up, shed a few inches, build muscle back up, and maybe even shed a few pounds. Along with Pilates, I have been incorporating some light Yoga. I find that Yoga helps me a lof with balance, concentration, and reduces my personal stresses and anxieties. Having the right fitness apparel makes a huge difference to me when it comes to having a good workout. Whether I am working out for fifteen minutes or forty-five, I need the right tops and bottoms, and sometimes accessories, too!

The tank I received was the gorgeous GAIAM Petal Tank in Jazzy, size Small.

I was drawn to the Petal Tank because of its unique design. A lot of yoga apparel can be sort of constricting- which is fine. I like my workout apparel to have a tighter fit when I am doing Pilates. In yoga, however, there's a bit more room and flexibility for a looser-fitting garment. The Petal Tank has a beautiful flowy look and feel to it, and it really allows the body to fully breathe and relax. It's cinched at the sides around the bottom band. This is a long tank, and is loose-fitting across the top. I have no problem wearing this tank alone at home, but it's a bit too revealing to wear to a class or in front of others, if you know what I mean. GAIAM has a great Petal Strap Bra that can be nicely paired with this tank if you're headed to class or working out with friends.

I also loved the open design on the back of the Petal Tank- so beautiful!

One of the things I love about the loose-fitting nature of the Petal Tank from GAIAM, is that this is a tank that isn't going to crush your chest. If you wear the tank alone, your 'bups' as we call them in my house, will be free to go where they want to go. If you'd like a bit more stability, again- go for the bra to wear underneath the tank.

The Petal Tank allowed me to move so freely during Yoga time with my little man.

I was able to sit and stretch, stand and balance, comfortably rest in Pigeon, etc.

The Petal Tank is a great option for a Yoga workout, and worked super well for me during Mommy & Me Yoga!

B was completely interested in the BFF Headband, so I told him he could wear it during our yoga workout together, Since he's a boy with long hair, he was actually the perfect person to try the headband out! The headband stayed in place on his head, and did a great job of holding his hair back, and absorbing moisture. B's head gets so sweaty when we are active (from all of that hair!), and the headband did a great job of keeping his head nice and dry! I did explain that he's have to give this headband back to mommy, but that we'd find a kids headband for him to wear during yoga time.

I have been very pleased with both the Petal Tank and BFF Headband. I'd actually love to gift one of the BFF Headbands to my BFF, who is an avid runner- she'd love this! I am looking forward to enjoying both pieces through out the summer, and I can't wait to take the BFF Headband along with me on our upcoming beach vacation- it'll be great for keeping the beach winds from whipping my crazy hair all around!
