The Power of Protein #MondayMotivation

Want to get motivated this Monday? Or any day for that matter? Start your day with a breakfast that is high in protein. Here are some of the benefits:
  • Starting your day with a meal high in protein  will give you energy and make you feel awake. Early meals with lost of protein raises your brain's tyrosine levels. Tyrosine helps your brain produce neurotransmitters called norepinephrine and dopamine, which give you energy and make you feel awake and alert.
A breakfast of fruit, whole grain bread, scrambled eggs is a great choice!
  • Having a breakfast rich in protein can help you stay fuller for longer compared to having a lower-protein breakfast.
Whole wheat toast with peanut butter is loaded with protein!
  • Breakfasts full of protein will cause your brain to produce all the neurotransmitters it needs to help your entire body function properly.
Scrambled eggs, whole wheat toast, and tomatoes will fill you up longer.
Be cautious with the type of protein you eat though, because a high-protein diet may also be high in cholesterol and fat. Foods high in fat and cholesterol  can lead to weight gain and cardiovascular issues. To avoid these issues and reap the benefits of protein, avoid fried foods, no gravies, and stay away from high-fat meats  such as like bacon or pork sausage. Some good alternatives are turkey, chicken, whole grains, nuts, protein powders, and beans.

It looks delicious and its full of protein but fried eggs, white toast, bacon, and pork sausage isn't the best idea.
Josh and I started a diet today and we made sure to eat a great protein filled breakfast! We made a fruit and protein shake and ate a protein bar. Both of these were quick and easy and most importantly really portable!

These bad boys are AMAZING!

What's your favorite healthy protein packed breakfast? We'd love to hear from you!
