For just over a year now, I have been running. I chose to start running after C was born and have really learned to like it. One thing that really keeps me motivated while running is music. I love connecting my phone to my music app and just letting the songs push me along on my run. I have done quite a few 5ks and even a mini marathon, with another mini in May 2015. I know the music plays a huge part for me and I am so glad that I have a way to safely carry my phone with me while I am out for my runs.
I have been thankful for Armpocket many times. Last year, we featured them in our Holiday Gift Guide, see that review here. I also purchased one for my husband after that, because sharing was just not going to work for us. I was thrilled when we contacted them again and they happily agreed to be a part of our 2014 Holiday Gift Guide.
Armpocket, launched in 2006, is head-quartered in Miramar, Florida. It was developed by a team of active athletes who were looking for something to carry all of their belongings when working out. They needed something that would be comfortable and versatile, while also being hands free. After many different tries, the first Armpocket was born and it is a winner. The Armpocket is a water-resistant, machine washable carrying system with a headphone/music port, touch control window, that is both durable and made with eco-friendly products. It also is made of a no-slip memory foam and includes a comfortable vented strap.
After working with Amanda the first go-round, she offered us an Armpocket of my choice. I now currently run with an I-15, which I love, but can be a bit bulky when I don't need to carry a whole lot of other items with me. Adam got an I-25 from Santa, which is great for him because it has a reflective strip to help keep him safer when he runs at dusk. I knew when I worked with Amanda again this go-round, I would be given great customer service and amazing products to share with our readers.
The Armpocket website is very user friendly and can easily help you find the best product for your phone and needs. To start your search, you can first choose your phone type, they offer options for Apple, Samsung, and Other Brands. I love that you can search for just the needs you want too from just your phone, to larger items as well. If you use this nifty comparison page, you can see what each Armpocket product will offer you.
Amanda offered to send a few items and also offer a giveaway for our readers, she rocks! I told her we would love to see some of the newer items that Armpocket has released since our last review, she did not disappoint.
Our Armpocket package is here!
Inside I found three different options of Armpockets, I was blown away with the generosity!
Each comes wrapped and secured in their own plastic bag. You can immediately see what you are getting, which is very nice.
The first item I was sent was the Xtreme I-30
The Xtreme I-30 comes in 4 color options, black, pink, yellow, and splash. We were sent pink, which is my favorite color, so I was super happy. Adam will not have interest in sharing this one with me! It is also available in 3 sizes, S (7-11"), M (10-15"), L (13-18"), which is best to be measured using the Armpocket guide of your upper bicep. I was sent a medium, which is perfect for me.
The Xtreme I-30 retails for $39.95 and measures 5.5" x 3.75" x .6", so it is just a tad bigger than my I-15. It will fit an iPhone 5 with a larger case or iPhone 6 without a case. This is a nice feature, because while I currently have a 5, I will probably move to a 6 soon. It is very high quality, just like I have come to know from our other Armpocket products. It is very bright and girly, just my style. While it is still on the bigger side, it is not heavy or bulky, but will hold all of the belongings I need it to.
We were also sent the Xtreme I-30 in Splash.
While everything about this is the same as the pink, this design is very fun and bright. I know my mom would just love the design. She has asked us many times about our Armpockets, so I think I might just know what she is getting for Christmas. She isn't a runner, but loves walking long distances with her dog, so carrying her belongings safely is also a must for her.
The third item we were sent was the Racer
The Racer comes in 3 color options, black, pink, and yellow. We were sent black, which is a great choice for either Adam or me to use interchangeably. Adam and I both thought this Armpocket would be a nice addition for us, because of its thinner size, it measures 5.5" x 3.25" x 0". The Racer is available in S or M, again make sure to use the Armpocket size chart.
The Racer retails for $24.95, which is a good price point for a more basic armband. This case will only hold a few small items compared to some of the larger bands that hold more. This band is great for my runs in our neighborhood when I only really need my phone with me. The Racer will fit all of the iPhone 5s, and both the iPhone 4 and 6, up to 5.5" large.
The Racer is my new go-to band for regular runs, I love it. It is very lightweight, stays in place, and also has reflective piping along the outer edges, providing me with a little more safety. It also has a touch thru screen, Velcro closure, and headphone outlets.
Make sure to check out all of the other Armpocket products, they have a wide variety of prices, colors, and styles, something for everyone!
