Armpocket Review and Giveaway

After having Baby C, I made a decision. One decision to be healthier, but not just me, for our whole family. We have always been an active family, going for walks, bike riding, playing sports, but I was ready for something more. We have started running. I have NEVER, I repeat NEVER, been a runner. I am slow and goofy and my body hurts, but something changed when Baby C was born. Running sounded almost fun in my head and we decided, as a family, to start running. We did our first 5K when Baby C was 4 weeks old. I didn't run the whole thing, but my husband and B did. I suddenly was into running a bit more. We did a second 5K a week later and quickly talked about doing more.
I knew that I would have to start training a bit more to be able to run a whole 5K and started off on the treadmill. I also began looking at things to help motivate me while running. One big thing I knew would help me was music. When I run with the girls, I use the double jogging stroller. I would just throw my cell in there with some music and go, but the stroller is big and bulky and I didn't want to run with it everyday. I didn't know what I was going to do for music when I didn't have the stroller either. That is when my husband gave me a great idea. He had found a coupon for an armband to use while running and asked me if we should buy one. I said, go ahead, but then I thought, maybe I can find a great company for MBP to work with that has armbands. So I set out in search of one and luckily I stumbled across Armpocket.

Armpocket was developed by a team of active athletes who needed to carry all their important belongings while running. They had tried many different options and had many thoughts on what they could make better. In 2006, after three years of creating, they launched the first Armpocket.
The Armpocket is a water resistant, machine washable carrying system with a headphone/music port, and touch control window. It is made of a no-slip memory foam and has a comfortable vented strap. With durable and quality construction, plus being eco-friendly-each Armpocket uses fabric made from recycle plastic bottles and the mesh fabric and strap edges are made of sustainable materials, the Armpocket is definitely a winner.

I worked with Amanda, who offered us an Armpocket of my choice and also offered one as a giveaway to our lucky readers-so thankful to Amanda! Amanda was kind, helpful, and willing to give assistance with anything I might need. I went to the Armpocket website, which is very nicely designed and user friendly, and started my search for the best fit for me.

I first chose my phone brand (Apple), make/model (5), what size case I had (thin), and what items I would want to carry in my Armpocket (small items-ID, credit card, single key). I was then presented with my options based on what I selected. Three Armpockets were recommended, the i-15, the i-25, and the i-30, but they have 9 total options so everyone can find what they need. I studied my choices and let Amanda know which I thought was best, keep reading to find out what I chose and why.

My Armpocket package is here!
It came nicely packaged and included a very informative brochure.
I chose the i-15 in orange. I had my choice of 7 colors, but felt orange was usable by both my husband and I (since we would be sharing it). If it had just been for me, I would have gone with pink. I also chose a size medium, after a quick bicep measurement.
The i-15 retails for $34.95 but other models range in price from $19.99-$49.99, so there are quite a variety of options. I chose the i-15 for its style and size. The i-15 measures 5.5" x 3.75" x 0.4" and fits devices up to 5.4". I was very pleased with the quality right off the bat. It was bright, colorful, and well made. It also did not feel bulky and big.

My husband uses ear buds and likes that the i-15 has two headphone outlets. I like the touch thru screen, no stopping to take the phone in and out to make it work. I also like that everything is safely secured inside the pocket. We both enjoy how comfortable it is to wear, with a Velcro closure, we can quickly adjust between the two of us and it isn't too tight or too loose. It also stays put no sliding up or down when we run. I don't even feel it when I run, it is a very light addition to my arm.
We have been running with it for two months almost daily, when we run together we have to take turns getting to wear it. If that doesn't tell you how much we like it, I'm not sure what will.
We have another 5K coming up in a few weeks and we are planning to do a few more before the first of the year. I love that we have a safe, comfortable way to carry our phone, have access to our apps, and are staying motivated to keep our family healthy.

  1. I try to walk and stretch regularly, with some dvd's thrown in. I try not to eat too much bad stuff but that gets hard, especially as we get closer to the Holidays, I get busier, and there are lots more church events to be at.
