~Kiddos Edition~
I am one of those moms whose kids never have shoes on until the weather gets cooler. C rarely wears shoes, maybe to the soccer and baseball fields, but not even all the time then. Now that the weather is getting cooler and she is getting older, I know that shoes are going to be required more. I do have quite a variety of shoes from when S was a toddler, that are still in great condition (again, my kids never wear shoes, although I still buy them), but I still want C to have some of her "own" new shoes. When we were offered the chance to review an item, I will keep it a secret for just a bit longer, from a company called Freshly Picked, I jumped at the chance for C to get some of her own.
Freshly Picked, was started literally with sweat and determination by a mom, Susan, back in 2009. Susan was frustrated with the lack of well-designed, soft-soled baby shoes on the market, and using her son as her experiment, she picked up some scrap leather and began experimenting with some shoe designs. She went with the moccasin idea, hoping that they would be durable, cute, and stay on a baby foot. With not a lot of extra money in the budget in the beginning, Susan got creative and asked her brother, who owns a window installation company, if she could keep the old windows he removed from houses. She then took those windows, removed the aluminum framing, visited the scrap yard, and recycled them to earn some extra cash for her new business. After trial and error, Susan discovered a design that she knew would work and began her business.
Fast forward to 2014, Freshly Picked has appeared on ABC's Shark Tank in January (episode 518), featured in magazines like US Weekly and Parenting, and even have been seen on famous kid feet like the Kardashians. The moccasins have gone through some design changes to really perfect the look and fit to make them durable, well designed, and adorable. Each pair is handmade with care, perfection, and love.

We worked with Rachel, who is very sweet, and totally committed to Freshly Picked. Rachel sent us a form to fill out to make sure we would be a great fit for them, and we were! She offered to send us our choice of moccasins to review and share with our readers and graciously offered a giveaway as well. I could not wait to learn more about Freshly Picked and their awesome moccasins.
Our Freshly Picked package is here!
As I opened the box, I found some really neat surprises.
Each part of the inside of the box was decorated in a garden theme. I knew S would really think it was neat to make some art with a box and how creative of Freshly Picked to make something extra fun for their customers. They also included super colorful stickers to help with decoration.
There was also a really cool, cream colored bag decorated with the company logo and proudly stating, made in the USA. I really like the feather logo, along with the easy to read font. There was also a button for us to have too. There are a lot of extra touches that Freshly Picked chooses to use, I feel like that just shows how much they care about their customers and products.
Now, on to the Freshly Picked Moccasins. We decided on a bright and fun color for C to wear, S helped me browse all the options that were available. There are currently over 30 color and style options on the Freshly Picked site that range in price from $45-60. Once we let Rachel know our choice and she shipped them, we were excited to see them in person.
The Aruba Limited Edition Moccasins
These specific pair of moccasins is no longer available.
Each pair of Freshly Picked Moccasins is made of 100% genuine leather and features a unique design with elastic at the opening. I am in love with our Aruba moccasins and think the color is absolutely great. It is perfect for us to wear now and transition to the Fall. These shoes are really soft and flexible, perfect for a baby and toddler foot. They are made to be easily put on and taken off, but also STAY on the foot. C really tries to yank them off her feet, but they are a true struggle for her.
I love the way her tiny feet look in them. She toddles around the house without any issues and I know her feet are looking cute while being protected.
Freshly Picked moccasins are meant to fit true to size and come in children's sizes 1-10. You can check out the sizing chart here. I measured C's foot and she was just about the 3 range, but I was afraid they would be too small, so we ordered up to a 4. They are a bit large, but will definitely be a shoe she can wear all winter long and probably into the spring. I can only picture her now in some cute spring clothes and these adorable moccasins on.
When we were ready to decorate our box, I gave the girls the go ahead to start creating their garden.
We followed the cutting directions to create 4 separate garden areas.
We applied the stickers too, this was the best part.

Our final creation!
From start to finish, Freshly Picked has impressed me. They ship in a fun way, their products are well thought out and practical, while still be adorable, and they have great customer service. I am pleased with our moccasins and love the feedback we have gotten when C has worn them in public. Make sure you check them out too, they have some great Fall color and style options available now.
