Monday Motivation: You're an Overcomer

Hey gang, and happy Monday! I hope and pray you all had a blessed weekend. My little man is just off to school this morning, which means that I have the next few hours to quietly work. I'm not used to the house being quiet, so I have been listening to a lot of inspirational music as I work, trying to be very aware of God's presence in my life during this time.

I have been going through some personal struggles the past several weeks, fighting feelings of doubt, uncertainties, and self-worth. I suppose we all struggle with these feelings day to day sometimes, and to be honest, this has really sort of thrown me for a loop. I know that others rely on me to sort of have it all together, to be a smiling face and a voice of hope, so I am definitely feeling knocked down by this.

'I may be down, but I'm not out.'

A message that I heard several weeks ago at a Hillsong Church in NJ has been on my heart, where their guest preacher noted that whatever season we may be in right now, we are qualified to do what we're doing- anointed by the Holy Spirit, equipped with the skill needed and armed with the Word of God to walk the earth as a disciple of Christ Jesus. God never promised us days without struggle, pain or fear, but even in my own trials, I find comfort in knowing that the battle has already been won for me, by a humble servant and King named Jesus, who rescued the world, that he might have our hearts.

My biggest struggle in all of this, is just letting God in... opening my heart back up, and letting God search me, as I continue to seek Him. Yes, I may be down, but I am not out of the race- I know that there are brighter days ahead, and that if just start having very open, honest conversations with God again, that He will answer me. The waiting can be hard- but I will choose to worship God in the quiet and in the stillness, rather than becoming frustrated and repeatedly asking 'why?' I trust God's plan and His purpose for me. I choose to remember that God holds the world in His hands- and that includes you, and me.

"Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.' (John 14:1)

Blessings on your week, whatever comes your way.
