Get into the Summer Spirit with Zak Designs Confetti Spirit Nested Bowls! #Review + #Giveaway

I have so many fond Memorial Day Weekend memories. When I was a little girl, still living in NJ, my family always got together for a cook out in the park. We spent the whole afternoon grilling hamburgers and hotdogs, playing games, going for walks to feed the ducks, etc. It was one of my favorite days of the year, just because we got to spend time together. Over the years, we moved away from one another, and developed some new traditions, like back yard BBQ's, and family beach trips. This year, my parents have just returned from Germany, so we're not taking a family vacation until sometime in July. We were delighted to spend part of Memorial Day Weekend with my husband's family, who invited us over for a cook out... which meant that I wouldn't have to cook!

I do love cooking and entertaining, but sometimes it's nice not to have to be the hostess... less to worry about, you know? Even though we're never expected to bring anything along to a family get together, I always like to make a little something to take with us. This year, I was excited that I had a brand new set of bowls from Zak! Designs to do a little prepping and serving from!

I have some nice mixing bowls that I received when I got married, but if you ask me, you can never have too many bowls in your kitchen cabinets, especially in different sizes!

I lifted the top off of the box to find this colorful foursome!

I was so happy to find the spirited red, white, and blue bowls. These are perfect for everyday use, and summer entertaining. I love decorating the house for Memorial Day, and the 4th of July, and I knew these would make a festive addition! The lovely set of bowls feature four bowls in four sizes- two of them blue, one red, and one white.

Thick, sturdy bowls will make prep and serving time easy and fun!

As I removed the set of bowls from their box, I noted how thick they were. No one wants to serve up their best sides in flimsy bowls at the family picnic. These bowls aren't super heavy, but they do have a nice weight to them. They have a wide lip around the rim, making them easy to grasp and carry.

The Confetti Spirit Nested Bowls feature a festive confetti design, showing little specs of opposite colors on each bowl. I have always wanted a confetti set of serving ware in my kitchen, and now I have one! The added confetti makes each and every use feel like party time!

Four different sizes give so many options for kitchen prep, and serving!

I couldn't wait to get the new Confetti Spirit Nested Bowls by Zak! Designs into the kitchen, and put them to use! I mentioned the Memorial Day cook out that we were attending with my husband's family- I wanted to make a little something to take along to the cook out, and I thought that a nice pasta salad would keep well, whether we were inside, or outside.

I grabbed the large blue bowl, and the red bowl, and headed to the kitchen to begin boiling rotini noodles. After the noodles were cooked through, rinsed with cold water, and drained, I placed them into the large blue nesting bowl. The bowl turned out to be the perfect size to hold all of the noodles, as they rested, and while I mixed up the oil and seasoning mix for the salad.

After I mixed the oil with the special seasonings, I poured it over the pasta in the blue bowl, and gently tossed it all together, to really get it mixed together well enough. No one wants a dry pasta salad, so I turned the pasta over several times to make sure each piece had a coating of the oil and seasonings.

After the pasta was coated, I added Parmesan cheese, and crushed Caesar croutons to the salad, and again, gently tossed it, to make sure it was well mixed. The garlic and Parmesan over the pasta smelled so delicious! I could wait to taste it! The large blue bowl was a bit larger than I needed for the bulk of the salad, so I carefully transferred the pasta salad to the red serving bowl, which was the perfect size. I covered it with some plastic wrap, let it chill in the refrigerator for several hours, and then transported it to the family cook out, where it was a big hit!

Everyone loves the yummy pasta salad, and loved the pretty serving bowl, as well!

I have been using the Zak Designs Confetti Spirit Nested Bowls for all sorts of things since I received them. The small blue bowl is a great size to scramble a couple of eggs in, or to serve a pre-portioned snack in! The white bowl is a nice size for smaller mixing jobs, or as a smaller serving bowl. The red and larger blue bowls are getting used quite a lot in our home right now, because they're perfectly sizes for mixing up and serving side dishes with our meals, whipping up a salad, or serving up popcorn for family movie night!

We think the Confetti Spirit Nested Bowls by Zak! Designs are pretty, and practical! I love their festive colors, and will proudly show my all American spirit this summer, as we use these bowls! I can't wait until our patio project is finished, because these bowls will be perfect for outdoor entertaining this summer! I hope to have a 4th of July cook out at our house, and have everything ready to show off to our family and friends- including these awesome bowls!
