It's been pretty chilly here in NC, which for this time of year, isn't really normal. I remember still wearing skirts and flip flops on Thanksgiving Day, thinking all I wanted was to be in a sweater. This time of year, we have some days that are warm, near 70 degrees, and others that stay cold, in the 40's! With such big gaps between temperatures from one day to the next, we sort of have to keep a bunch of different clothing and light jackets, plus coats out, where they can be quickly grabbed and thrown on before we head out the door.
My hubby and I both have 3-in-1 jackets which are zip apart jackets for rain, can be winter coats, or can just be fleece jackets. We've been having to use them as winter coats, because it's been so cold here, and we quickly realized that B would also be needing a winter coat of his own this year, as it seems we're in for a cold, hard winter.

I was so excited to see that we were sent a real winter jacket from Rugged Bear. When I say real winter jacket, I mean a jacket that will actually keep my child warm! The Winter Windproof Snow Ski Jacket by Rugged Bear is a handsome and cool design for little boys (there's one just like it for infants, too!), featuring charcoal, black and neon green/yellow details and lining.
When I presented the jacket to B, he was so excited, and couldn't wait to try on his 'big boy coat,'as he calls it. B slid into the coat with no problem. We were sent a 3 , and I worried that it might be snug, but it actually fit him perfectly, and left plenty of room for a sweater to be layered underneath. That's always my jacket or coat fit test, by the way- if there's room for a sweater underneath the coat, you're good to go with it.

The coat is super soft on the inside and outside. There's a snow skirt around the waistline, inside of the jacket, which is awesome! It doesn't snow much here in NC, but when it does, it's usually a whopper of a snow storm. I remember what it was like to have snow getting down my pants when I was a kid. We lived in NJ, and my sister and I loved to play in the snow. My parents wound up buying us snow suits! This allows your child the comfort of just being in a coat, verses a snow suit for winter wonderland play! No one wants to deal with snow suits when kids need a potty break, anyway- this coat makes it easier on everyone!
The winter jacket also zips closed, and snap button closes, for double protection. There are two exterior pockets that zip closed. There is a cozy hood, which can be rolled up and stored in a secret zip pocket, located at the neck of the jacket, which is awesome, because sometimes you want the hood out, and other times it may get in the way. Problem solved!
Fits great in the back, and the hood is awesome!

We're so glad that B now has a proper coat to get him through the winter season, and we'll definitely be crossing our fingers that we'll have some snow to play in!
