Stylish Footwear for Winter Weather: Chooka Bolero Boots #Review + #Giveaway #HolidayGiftGuide

I love wearing boots. I have been craving colder weather so I can break out my favorite jackets, scarves, and boots! I enjoy wearing fashion boots, but lately they've just been hurting my feet, or being ruined by all of the rain we seem to be having so regularly. In fact, our weather forecast for the next few days is filled with the possibility of a wintry mix and lots of rain. It looks like we may be in for an actual winter this year, and I am actually looking forward to it.

I need my feet to be warm, protected, and I need to make sure that I stay safe when I'm out in the rain, snow or what have you. I am a huge klutz, and have fallen from slipping on wet floors and patches of black ice in recent years. The result from two bad falls is a bad knee that gives me lots of trouble, and me needing to be extra careful in the rain, ice and snow.

About a year and a half ago, I was introuduced to Chooka, a fabulous brand of footwear designed to be worn in the rain and protect against the elements. These stylish waterproof rain boots are absolutely gorgeous! I chose these based both on their design, and specifications. Since I needed something that could handle the wet and the cold, fit over my jeans or pants and still be fashionable, these were the perfect choice!

Bolero Waterproof Rain Boots

These boots are perfect for any fashionista who wants to keep her tootsies warm and dry all winter long. We're already seeing lows in the teens (which is highly unusual for this time of year in North Carolina), and my feet wind up freezing in my flats! The Bolero Waterproof Boots by Chooka combine leather, neoprene and rubber for a stylish look. The neoprene is what keeps you warm. Neoprene is often used in hiking gear and wetsuits, because it;s waterproof, warm and breathable. Notice the diamondweave neoprene pattern on the boots- beautiful! The rubber gives great traction in wet or slippery weather, plus, it keeps your feet totally dry.

I couldn't wait to get into my new Chooka Bolero boots! I need to mention that I did measure my calves before I decided on these boots. I wanted to make sure that they would fit my calves, and that I would have room to tuck my skinny pants or jeans into them, as well. My calves were smaller than the measurement, so I knew they would be a great match. I had no trouble getting them on, and actually, they were even roomier than I expected them to be, which is awesome, because that means I can wear boot socks with these!

Not only were they super comfy to wear, they looked great! I have worn them with a skirt on a rainy day, with leggings and a tunic, and with jeans and pants. These look perfect with just about anything! They kept my feet extra warm each time I wore them. I have worn them in the rain, and on sunny days, too. On the rainy days, they kept my feet perfectly dry, and I never once felt like I might slip on a wet surface. I felt like I had control over my movements, sloshing through puddles and then walking into a building.

I'm not surprised that I love these gorgeous boots from Chooka. I never expected to own a pair of rain boots that actually performed they way I needed them to, and looked so stylish, too! Chooka has crafted so many beautiful styles of boots and flats that there's a style for just about every taste.

I have the Chantal and Nobotana styles in different colors than the ones shown above, and I love them both! I wear those in the spring and fall, and love the way they protect my feet from the rain! Now, of course, I love my Chooka boots, too! I don't think I could ever trust any other type of rain footwear, because my standards are now set to Chooka's, which are exceptional!
