365 Acts of Kindness: Week 31

Happy Monday! Today, we're continuing our 365 Acts of Kindness today, encouraging everyone to do one nice thing for someone else every day, for the next year. It doesn't have to be random- you can certainly be kind to someone you know, or a complete stranger. The idea is to pass love around- help someone else out, and inspire them to do the same. Sometimes, we have to change to be the change we want to see in this world.

Every Monday, we're posting a weekly roundup of Acts of Kindness, where you can share how you've helped others, or how others have blessed you by their acts.

Our Acts of Kindness from Last Week...

My week was filled with little kindnesses- like holding the door open for busy moms pushing stollers, arms full of shoppings bags and toting along other kiddos. I also paid extra attention to chat up some of the cashiers I met through the week, asking how their day was, and making them valued. Often times folks demean customer service people, which is so rude. Taking the time to ask how they're doing, even if they don't first ask you, can really make someone's day! -Ondria

This is Week 31 of this special Bloggers & Readers Challenge, and I am so eager to read everyone's comments on how they were able to offer kindness, or how they received kindness from someone else last week.

Be sure to leave us your comment, and keep spreading the love around! You never know- your comment might be featured in next week's post, or we might randomly show kindness to one our our readers!!

  1. What a great idea to try and do an act of kindness everyday - I have to admit I love nattering to some of the cashiers in some of the stores I go to.

  4. Those are some great acts of random kindness. I always try to be polite to service people. When I was a teenager I worked in customer service and was on the receiving end of all kinds of rude comments. I vowed always to be pleasant.

  5. What a great idea. I don't think I've done anything lately last week since I've been mostly at home and work. Didn't really do anything at work either but I'll make an effort this week to do so. :)

  8. Act of kindness: last week while having brunch at a new little cafe, these two elderly ladies next to us were VERY rude to their waitress. After they left, eating a $30 meal, they left no tip. My husband got up, found the waitress and tipped her for being kind to the mean old women. She almost cried. Made me very proud of him. Kindness, it cost you nothing.

  9. Such an important thing to focus on. I can't say that anything comes right to mind from my last week, but I'll pay more attention this week!

  10. What a great and lovely idea. I always try to share my crisps with kids in my school van and remove stones or any bush from road to clear someone's way! :)

  11. I absolutely love this idea of doing an act of kindness at LEAST once a week! It really makes you stop and think about how you're going to make a difference in someone's life! As a mother, I know I appreciate when someone holds a door open for me when I have my daughter in her stroller - strollers are hard to maneuver anyways, much less try and open a door by myself too! So thank you for doing that for other moms. :)

  13. This is such a great idea. There is such a plethora of bad news out there on a daily basis so it's nice to get some good news about acts of kindness that are being done all around us.

  14. What a thought to implement with positive sprite. I do some least things which makes me happy..i mean i am not Kind particularly but this is something which makes me feel so good, so i try do these thing as much as i can. I donate clothes to needy people whenever i go to buy some, for example: if i am going to purchase three t-shirts then i will donate one of them. There are lot of things which i don't want to share because i myself feel bad to say that "i help anybody or i am doing any type of kindness". God is a giver, God is kind..we are no one...everything happens according to his will. BTW really nice post :)

  16. I love your last suggestion. It always amazes me how easy it can be (sometimes) to turn someone's attitude around by just initiating kindness.

  17. I absolutely love this idea! I'm all about random acts of kindness and helping others, it's just who I am. I haven't really been anywhere to help someone this week but I like to have a list of ideas when I'm out just in case I'm not thinking. I really love this though. Let's get the word out!

  18. I love random acts of kindness especially when they truly are random. I went out of my way last evening to thank all of the staff that waited on our table and let them know how great they were. Not just the waiter. And I made sure that I told the manager also when she asked how our waiter was. Of course a nice tip was left too.

  19. Today although it wasn't random, my son and I had a big surprise party for my daughter and her entire family. We have missed all their birthdays but hers which is on Wednesday. We had them over for dinner and surprised them all with everything you could think off. It was a great time.
