It's Okay to Get Messy this Summer! Bibbitec Saves the Day! #Review

This is brought to you by AdvertiseWithBloggers.com and Bibbitec.com. I was given an Ultimate Smock to use in facilitating my review. All opinions are 100% mine.

So far this spring and summer, we've had quite a bit of rain. I'm a work at home mom, and have the joy and pleasure of entertaining my two and a half year old son each day. Most days, we spend a great deal of time outside- playing, laughing and learning by doing some creative activities. Since we've been having so much rain, even when it's not actually raining, it's still too wet to go outside to play. I've been having to pull out our arts and crafts bag quite a bit lately, and until recently, that meant that I was doing a lot of extra laundry!

Bibbitec- Ultimate bib made in the USA

I recently had the opportunity to try out an amazing product with my little mess-maker. Bibbitec offers the ultimate bibs and smocks for babes and kiddos. It all started when mom and Bibbitec founder, Susie Taylor took a very long plane ride with her two sons, and found that her husband's shirt was about the only thing that remained clean! Susie set out to put an end to parents having to deal with bibs that just didn't work and didn't keep the kids clean. So, Susie came up with the Bibbitec full body bib, and has never looked back!

My package from Bibbitec is here!

I couldn't wait to try out the Ultimate Smock from Bibbitec. Balian is obviously too old for needing to wear a bib when he eats, but I often have to fight to get him to wear an apron when we do art projects. Even after to apron goes on, it does a poor job of protecting his clothing, and I wind up having to get marker, crayon and paint out of t-shirts, and sometimes his pants (not easy!).

Ultimate Smock by Bibbitec

As I laid the Bibbitec Ultimate Smock out to take a closer look at it, I immediately noticed how blanket soft it was. There was nothing stiff or plastic-y about it, and there were no straps, loops or belts. The smock works like a bib would. There is an opening for the child's head to go through, offering them plenty of room at the neck to move freely, without straps, snaps, buttons or Velcro. This is a doubly wonderful feature, because it means that kiddos can't just pull at it and rip it right off. There are two slots for the arms to go through, as well. This feature actually helps to protect more clothing than a traditional apron, because it curves a bit around the child's body. The smock also features two large pockets, perfect for holding little art supplies like paint brushes, a wooden spoon, etc.

Balian graciously agreed to model his new art smock for me, and was pleased as punch after he tried it on. I think he liked that there were no loops at his neck, and nothing that needed to be tied around his little waist. You can see from the photo, how wonderfully long this smock is- protecting his full body, and even the sides of his clothing.

Arts and Crafts time!

We put the Bibbitec Ultimate Smock to the test a few times at home. We did some finger painting with it on, and I was happy to find that the mess wound up on the smock, and not on Balian's clothing or the chair. We have also used the smock during creative play time (because even Play-Doh can be extremely messy), and while we've been cooking together. Balian loves to make his own pizzas, so when we make pizza at home, he gets to put his own cheese and toppings on. I slipped the Ultimate Smock over his clothes before he decorated his pizza, and his clothes were kept clean (the cheese even wound up in the pockets of the smock, instead of the floor).

...and here's what it looks like from the back.

I crawled under my dining room table to get a shot of the smock while Balian was wearing it and sitting down, just to show how much of the child is covered while the smock is worn. I can't tell you how much I love having this smock in our art cabinet. Balian has not once tried to pull at it, screamed about wearing it, or even asked to take it off during the middle of a project, which is a huge victory for me, all thanks to the genius minds behind Bibbitec!

No complaints here!

Have we gotten the Ultimate Smock totally messy? Yes- and that's totally okay, because that's what it's for. The Ultimate Smock (as well as Bibbitec's other awesome products) is made of a lightweight, breathable fabric that's soft, dries quickly and is machine washable. I've had no issues cleaning the smock, and honestly, I wouldn't mind having a second one to keep in the 'on the go bag', or in the car. I could rest a bit more easily if B wanted a fruit smoothie in his car seat, while wearing the Bibbitec Ultimate Smock! Plus, you never know when you might be faced with a messy situation, and I'd rather be well prepared and have B's clothing be spared!
