Even Little Dudes can be Surfer Chic with Beach Rays Swim Trunks (Review + Giveaway)

Getting ready to go on a beach vacation is never easy, and as mom to an adorable little boy, it's my job to make sure he not only has what he needs for the trip, but that he's well protected at all times. I usually hate picking out swimsuits for Balian. It's hard to find the right fit, and the little dude is actually starting to have an opinion about what he wears.

This summer, Beach Rays sort of saved me from a huge headache. Beach Rays was founded over a decade ago, and believes that beach life is a state of mind. Beach Rays has some pretty cool new swimwear for kids this season, and they were kind enough to send Balian a new pair of boy's swim trunks from their VroomVroom line of retro kids swim suits.

Devin Trunks in Wave, 3T

We received the Devin Trunks, which is just one of many styles in the VroomVroom line from Beach Rays. I liked this style and design, because it was a lot different from what I'd been seeing in stores. I always love for Balian to be unique, and these trunks would definitely stand out up against the common trunks we'd been spying while shopping.

The Devin Trunks are available in three colors, each of them featuring the stripe across the top, and with the adorable little bus with the surfboard and 'surfs up' logo. The trunks include a mesh lining, and an adjustable elastic waist with a drawstring tie. We went with a size 3T for Balian, who is tall, and has stocky legs.

I had a lot of fun matching a rash guard to these toddler swim trunks. I took a photo of the trunks with my phone so I could try to find matching colors in a rash guard. I paired this cute little whale one with it, because the blue seemed to match closely enough.

We actually wound up having to remove the mesh lining in the trunks, because Balian couldn't stand the way it rubbed against his legs when the trunks got wet. Understandable, I guess. We tried to resist doing that, but he kept pulling his trunks off on the beach. Once we cut the lining out, he was perfectly happy for the remainder of our time on the beach.

Balian not only felt totally cool while wearing these trunks, he was being kept cool by the 100% poly parachute fabric of the trunks, which ensures that little dudes will stay cool while they're wearing the trunks. The trunks fit Balian really well, too. They stayed up while he played in the water, they didn't cling to him when they got wet, and the dried faster than any pair of trunks he's ever owned.
