365 Acts of Kindness: Week 23

We're continuing our 365 Acts of Kindness today, encouraging everyone to do one nice thing for someone else every day, for the next year. It doesn't have to be random- you can certainly be kind to someone you know, or a complete stranger. The idea is to pass love around- help someone else out, and inspire them to do the same. Sometimes, we have to change to be the change we want to see in this world.

Every Monday, we're posting a weekly roundup of Acts of Kindness, where you can share how you've helped others, or how others have blessed you by their acts.

My Act of Kindness from Last Week:

My neighbor knocked on my back door last Friday, while I was waiting for my hubby to come home with  some pizza for dinner. My neighbor is a young man, with two little girls. He explained to me that his aunt, whom he was living with just moved out, giving the young man and his children the house to themselves (they lives in a basement apartment). He told me that he was having a yard sale on Saturday, getting rid of a few things to try to make some money to buy a new refrigerator. When his aunt moved out, she took her fridge and that meant he didn't have one. He asked if we'd like to buy a like-new basketball play set that he thought our son might enjoy. He was asking $10.00. I told my husband about it and asked him to bring some cash home. When the neighbor brought it over on Sunday afternoon, my husband gave him $20.00, and told him to keep it, hoping it would get them a little closer to purchasing their new refrigerator. Our neighbor was really touched by our kindness. I can't wait to see if they get their new fridge this week!

Great that you were ale to help them. I am still in my planning stages, but I am creating a plastic card based on the pay it forward idea, except with my company style. I give gifts away already, free. so My plastic card will allow whomever it reaches to request a free gift for themselves and also have the option to send a free gift for up to 5 friends of theirs. I am still working it all out lol but it will be fun. -Marilyn A.

This is Week 23 of this special Bloggers & Readers Challenge, and I am so eager to read everyone's comments on how they were able to offer kindness, or how they received kindness from someone else last week.

Be sure to leave us your comment, and keep spreading the love around! You never know- your comment might be featured in next week's post, or we might randomly show kindness to one our our readers!!

Thanks for participating!

  1. After a friends party last weekend one Mom somehow ended up with more bags then arms, and she was trying to push two babies in a stroller back to the car. I remembered the days of feeling like you needed to be an octopus carry every thing and to save her another trip from the car I carried a few bags for her.

  4. I hope he gets his fridge and then some. hy would the aunt just take the fridge, at least she could have bought a small dorm style type for the kids until he was able to get a larger one.

Wow awesome! Thank you for featuring my comment, hugs for you!.

My R.A.O.K is that sometimes at the place I check people into the Zumba classes, if the person doesn't have the $1 for a water, I tell them it's ok, and put the $1 in myself. It doesn't happen often at all, but it is Florida, it is hot and hydration is important when your Zumba-ing.
