A couple of months ago, we got word that we would be attending a Sesame Street Live event, in a nearby city. I was very excited for Balian, because he loves Sesame Street, and I couldn't wait to see his reaction to seeing his favorite characters coming to life. I knew that we would be surrounded by parents and children, wearing their favorite Sesame Street character t-shirts, and though Balian already had a couple of cute shirts, I wanted to him to have something extra special to wear on this special day.



I was contacted by Brooke of Southern Sass Boutique & Momma's Sew Crazy in Georgia, offering to make Balian his very own special and personalized t-shirt to wear to the Sesame Street Live event. I was thrilled to connect with Brooke, and after a few e-mails back and forth, asking sizes, favorite Sesame Street characters, etc., Brooke set to work on creating Balian's custom shirt.

Within a few weeks, Brooke had created an adorable shirt for Balian, and sent it out to us via priority mail. I actually didn't know which character was going to appear on Balian's shirt, so I was just as surprised as Balian was, to find this adorable Cookie Monster face on a striking blue colored t-shirt!

Balian's Cookie Monster T-Shirt from Southern Sass Boutique features Cookie Monster's unmistakeable googley eyes, and a scallop-edged mouth, wide open for shoveling cookies into it (sort of like a certain little two-year-old I know!). Brooke addd Balian's name to the shirt, to make it truly personal and extra special! I actually didn't let Balian wear the shirt for the first time, until the day of the show. I knew that it would be forever ruined in some way if I let him wear it beforehand.

We received this cotton tee in a 3T size. It's always a gamble when ordering t-shirts for kids. The shirt fit him really well, and there was plenty of room for him to move in it. This particular shirt is cut a bit shorter than some of the other shirts in B's wardrobe, so he may not be able to wear it as long as I'd hoped (he grows like a weed). It just teaches me to order a size 4T from here on out, so he'll get to wear these adorable t-shirts for a bit longer than just a few months.

We had a fantastic time at Sesame Street Live. There were so many little ones wearing their cute Sesame Street themed t-shirts and dresses, but none of them were as cute as Balian's! I had a few moms ask me where we got such an adorable character shirt, personalized, no less. I was happy to hand them my car and watch for the Southern Sass Boutique review & giveaway on MBP. I am so glad that Balian was able to enjoy this special day, seeing his special Sesame Street friends, in a very special shirt. It made him feel great to know that no one else had a t-shirt on that was quite like his. We did have a little accident with some chicken strips at lunch time, but it was nothing that a little stain remover and a wash in the machine couldn't handle. Balian has since worn this special shirt a handful of times, and we plan on keeping it in the closet until he outgrows it.
