I don't know about you all, but one of the thins that I crave the most at the end of a crazy week, is time to sit down with my family, pop a little popcorn, pot in a good family-friendly movie and spend some time together. It's amazing to me how little we actually see each other, when we're all under the same roof!

It can also be hard to find fun movies to watch, that are appropriate for the family. Gone are the days where my husband and I can just pop in whatever we'd like to watch, and chill out together. Now, we've got a little one at home with us, and we strive to promote and demonstrate our family values. So, when we were presented with an opportunity to spend an evening reviewing the newly realeased movie, Horrid Henry, we jumped at the chance!

We were sent a super fun family fun pack, which contained the Horrid Henry DVD, and a few fun, child-friendly pranks, like a hand buzzer, chattering teeth, etc. While these fun little items are too small for my toddler, they're great for us to hang onto for when our cousin Connor comes over. We knew he'd get a kick out of this movie, too!

Our fun pack contained a water balloon kit, hand buzzer, chattering teeth, the Horrid Henry book, and movie!

We spent about an hour and half, parked on the couch with some popcorn, a few chocolates, some water and lots of laughter!

Movie Synopsis:

When Henry fails yet again to hand in his homework for the umpteenth time, he inadvertently sets off an unexpected and curious chain of events. He forms an unlikely alliance with Moody Margaret, the infuriating girl next door, wins a talent contest, and stands up to his ultimate nemesis. With each antic crazier than the last, Henry finds himself inexplicably trying to save the very school which he has always professed to hate!

Our thoughts...

First of all, I love Anjelica Houston. I think she's fantastic, and this movie is no exception to that expectation. The entire cast is wonderful, and 'Horrid Henry,' does a great job! He's truly sort of horrible, until the end of the movie. There are great scenes depicting friendship, and what being a kid is all about. My husband and I got a kick out of the adults reactions to all of the pranks that the kids pulled in the movie (would hate to be in their teacher's shoes, though!).

Unlikely friendships and alliances are formed, much like our experience throughout childhood. In the end, Henry has a change of heart, and sets out to save the day, proving that he actually cares about his school after all.

We give this movie two-thumbs up. Even though there's a little slime here and there, the movie is clean, and great for the whole family! We truly can't wait for Balian's cousins to check this out, and we know he'll enjoy having this movie in his collection when he's a little older!
