I'm not exactly sure when it started, but I am drawn to black and white. I remember when all of my friends were submitting cliche' quotes for our Senior class yearbook photos, but I chose a song lyric, 'I am colorblind. Coffee black and egg white.' The idea carried through to my wedding- a black and white wedding- everything was black or white with not even a splash of color in between. It was no surprise to my husband that I wanted to carry the black and white theme over into our master bedroom at home. I have slowly been adding little black and white touches and accents to make our room look a bit more feminine, but we don't have a lot of space to spare for decor, so anything that is both decorative and serves a function is a win-win in my book.



Not long ago, I was doing a little browsing on Etsy, and found myself connecting with Pamela Lindell, owner of TradeFare. I really love the look of vintage style pieces, shabby chic, etc- and when I bumped into TradeFare, I noticed that most of the items available had been 'traded up,' as Pamela would say, or 'upcycled.' Right up my alley! Pamela keeps pretty busy- running a cleaning business, and also working with an Autistic young man during the day, and then creating one of a kind pieces for the home in her spare time.

Pamela sent me one of her beautifully crafted Black and White Damask Jewelry Hangers/Organizers. Now, I have a nice jewelry armoire, but is it crammed with jewelry. I like to keep some of my favorite pieces where I can see them- you know, the ones I wear most often. Plus, with all of the beautiful jewelry that I have been getting in to review for the holidays, it's really nice to be able to have a place to hang them where they're visible, and to keep them from tangling.

I so appreciated the nice note from Pamela. A handwritten note always speaks to a person's view on customer service, if you ask me. I couldn't wait to unwrap the jewelry holder and take a look!


Black and White Damask Jewelry Holder


This pretty piece is probably now my favorite thing in our bedroom. It's painted on a piece of pine wood, and holds ten hooks for your jewelry, or whatever else you might like to hang from it (nothing too heavy!). It's ready to hang with two saw tooth hangers on the back, and measures 14 ¾ x 3 ½. This lovely design is also available in yellow and white, which is equally as pretty as this one!

I'm not so great with getting things truly level, so I asked my husband to hang this jewelry organizer above my dresser. I try really hard to keep my dresser clutter-free. I generally do not lay things on top of it, unless I am putting laundry away. The top of my dresser is pretty much the only space in my home that I feel is mine- so I want it to look as nice as possible. The Black and White Damask Jewelry Holder from TradeFare fit right in, and actually really livened the wall space above my dresser up.

I couldn't be happier with my new jewelry organizer. I have lots of room to add more pieces, and I'm sure that won't take long!
