As we approach Halloween, I am digging out my fall and Halloween decor items. I have a lot of cute little figurines, and such, but not a whole lot to decorate the walls. I'm not really a fan of empty wall space, or un-decorated doors. When I decorate for various holidays, I love to go all out, without over doing it. As I looked for some cute Halloween decor to round out my collection of festive display pieces, I came across an Etsy shop that anyone would be crazy not to love!

Nicole Jones & two friends own The Crazy Polka Dot, and specialize in handmade decor and more! Based in Texas, Nicole has a passion for creating lots of crafty items, and is truly gifted! A couple of Halloween themed items caught my eye as I browsed through the available items from The Crazy Polka Dot, and when I reached out to Nicole, she offered to send me a hand painted Halloween sign. I have zero Halloween signs, so I was thrilled! 

Nicole chose to send me a hand painted Trick or Treat sign, and she took great care to wrap it and package it, so that it wouldn't get damaged during mailing. Nicole included a super sweet handwritten note, which I so appreciated!

My grandmother was over at my house when this adorable hand painted sign arrived, and she was 'ooing' over it, just as I was. The sign is made from a painted block of wood. Nicole painted the front and back of the block white, and then added 'Trick or Treat,' three spooky pumpkins, candy corn clusters, a spider web with a little green spider, dangling, and a super cute border. The block is finished off with a cute black and white ribbon, tied into a bow, making the lightweight block able to be hung up- on a wall, a door, etc.

I thought the sign would be the perfect thing to hand on my back door. We come and go from our back door the most, as do our guests, so it was the perfect place for everyone to be able to see it. It's been hanging up for a few days, and everyone gets such a kick out of it when they walk in! I just love it!

What I really can't get over, though- is the precision of the painted designs. I am no artist- and I could never ever paint so beautifully. It's just something that you need to see in person, to really be able to appreciate the work that was put into it. Because this is a handmade, hand painted decor item, the design may vary slightly... no two are 100% alike. This is available to be personalized, or customized, upon request!

I love the Trick or Treat Halloween Sign from The Crazy Polka Dot so much, that I have asked Nicole to make a Virginia Tech fan sign for me to give to my brother-in-law for Christmas this year. He's sort of hard to buy form but he loves VT, and I know he'll appreciate it- and then hang it in his den, or office. Any of the items available from The Crazy Polka Dot would make a wonderful gift! The Balloon wreath can be used again and again, for all kinds of celebrations. The Nursery Letters would make a wonderful gift for a little one, expecting parents, or new parents.
