My husband isn't big on sweets, unless, of course, we're talking about fudge. He loves the sweet, melty goodness of a good square of fudge, and who can blame him? We can't take a trip to the beach without having to stop in at his favorite sweets shop for some fresh, homemade fudge. We've tried to make our own fudge at home, and have even resorted to microwavable fudge mixes, but nothing has even come close to his favorite fudge- that is, until a couple of weeks ago.

I came across Fudgeteria.com a few weeks ago, and decided to reach out to them. Fudgeteria features Atlanta's premier Sweet Surrender Fudge, and I knew that my hubby would be the perfect test subject for their many varieties of fudge flavors. 

 

Paul and Kara Stieffel founded Sweet Surrender Fudge in 2009. Both had a childhood love of fudge, but realized that their was a void for gourmet fudge in the marketplace. Fudge is something that a lot of people love. and a product that brings back many happy memories, so Paul and Kara brought their 44 years of industry experience to the table, along with some super fresh ingredients, and oh yeah- their love of fudge, and Sweet Surrender was born!

Paul and I connected via e-mail, and I was offered the chance to choose five flavors of fudge to try in a Fudge Fixx Cup. I have never had such a hard time making a decision over a product to review- because there are 73 Fudge Fixx flavors to choose from! Oh, my goodness, gracious! I made a top ten flavors list, and narrowed it down to seven, and then I had to make three cuts- it was hard! I finally sent my selection to Paul, and he immediately shipped the Fudge Fixx Cups directly to my door.

When I told Sacha that we were going to be reviewing some homemade fudge, he was pretty excited. When our box from Sweet Surrender Fudge arrived after just a couple of days, we were all ready to give it a try!

 

Our Fudge Fixx Cups have arrived!

Fudge Fixx Cups are so clever! They are individual cups of fudge to be enjoyed at home or on the go. Each cup has a lid, so you don't have to eat an entire Fudge Fixx Cup all at once (though, it's hard not too). Every Fudge Fixx Cup comes with its own little plastic spoon, so you really can enjoy your fudge, no matter where you are!

I selected the following flavors for our Sweet Surrender Fudge review:

Amaretto

Cheesecake

Peanut Butter

Dark Chocolate Walnut

Chocolate Raspberry 

They all looked so delicious, I wasn't sure where to start! I chose the Amaretto, Cheesecake, and Peanut Butter Fudge Fixx Cups specifically for Sacha. Peanut Butter fudge is his hands-down favorite fudge flavor, amaretto sounded like it would be pretty tasty, and cheesecake- well, I mean, it's cheesecake... can't go wrong there. The dark chocolate walnut and chocolate raspberry flavors sounded super yummy to me, so I went with those flavors for myself.

 

I couldn't wait to taste the Chocolate Raspberry Fudge!

 

Does this look amazing, or what!?

We saved our Fudge Fixx Cups until after dinner, so they could be our dessert. We each took a seat at the table, and began sampling the Fudge Fixx Cups, one by one. I started with the Chocolate Raspberry Fudge, and was blown away right off the bat by the creamy, smooth texture of the fudge, and the flavors just melting together in my mouth! Chocolate and raspberry is such a yummy combination, and it's definitely a winner as a Fudge Fixx Cup!

Sacha wasted no time starting in on the Peanut Butter flavor, and he was really impressed by the texture and the consistency of the fudge. He is super picky about everything he eats, and fudge is no exception. He said the Peanut Butter Fudge Fixx Cup from Sweet Surrender Fudge was the best peanut butter fudge he'd ever tasted- and it trumped his previous favorite fudge! 

Balian's first experience with fudge- Chocolate Raspberry!

 

There was no chance of me taking the Fudge Fixx Cup from B...

We took small nibbles of the creamy Cheesecake, Dark Chocolate Walnut and the Amaretto. Sacha didn't even use real words to describe his approval of the Amaretto fudge... he just nodded his head, with his eyes closed, which is what he does when he thinks something is just out of this world. Balian quickly commandeered the Chocolate Raspberry Fudge Fixx Cup. Seriously- I couldn't take that away from my child without a huge fight. His chocolate covered face, and unwillingness to surrender his Fudge Fixx Cup said it all.

Don't bother mommy- she's enjoying her fudge fixx!

I indulged in a few bites of the Dark Chocolate Walnut flavor. I'm not usually huge on fudge- because it tends to be so, so sweet... but this fudge seemed to be balanced a little differently. There were big pieces of walnuts throughout the entire cup of fudge, which I loved! I knew that I would be upset with myself if I put too big of a dent into my fudge cup, so I saved the rest for later. I was right to save it... a week later, I got a huge 'gotta have it now' chocolate craving, and ate the rest of the cup's contents.

I am so glad that we got to try some sweet treat goodness from Sweet Surrender Fudge! Now I know where I can buy delicious fudge for my hubby, for stocking stuffers, Valentine's Day, etc... and this is fudge I can be sure he'll approve of!
