My parents just booked a seven day cruise for the two of them, me, hubby, Balian, and my sis and bro-in-law. We're going to Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, and Grand Caymen! I am so excited, and cannot wait to be cruising in warm waters come January, while everyone at home is chilled to the bone!
We were reviewing some of the guidelines for the cruise, and of course, everything has changed so much since I last took a cruise in 2005. It's recommended that if we bring our smartphones on the cruise, we leave them turned off, to avoid roaming fees. I quickly realized that this would mean I'll need to get a new camera before our trip comes around. I take all of my photos on my phone, and won't be able to do that on our trip.
So, I've got a new camera on my wish list for Christmas this year, and though I'm not exactly sure which one I want yet, I know that I'm going to find the perfect new digital camera at Jessops.
I'm leaning toward a Nikon, and will probably go with the Nikon 1 J1Compact System Camera. I love the features of this digital camera, like: extra fast shooting, full HD video, and motion snap shot (huge must-have for me!). I absolutely have to have a camera that will capture great stills of motion shots. I can't tell you how many hundreds of photos that have come out blurred and ruined from taking them with my smartphone camera. Stinks!
If my husband thinks that the Nikon won't suit my needs, I'm going to make sure he knows about the Canon PowerShot SX260! I love its compact size, and it looks like it has some pretty great features, too! 20x optical zoom, integrated GPS, full HD movies and high speed shooting sound pretty great to me! Sacha sort of has a thing for Canon digital cameras. We still have the first digital camera he ever got, and it's a Canon. It still works just fine, and takes great pictures, but we could definitely use an upgrade, especially to capture special photo opps on our trip!
I even found a great list of top ten digital photography tips! I'm going to print it out, and take it with me on our trip, so I can make sure I'm getting some great shots in Mexico!
I can't wait to get a new camera and start taking lots of great pictures! I don't know know if I can hold out until Christmas, though!

With all the stories about child abuse by nannies and caretakers that one has been hearing about off late, I couldn't help but install a nanny cam to make sure my kids are safe. I tried GotoCamera's free software, which is easy to set up and even easier to use. They have a free version of their software. However, I upgraded to their Premium service, which costs about $4 a month.
