Coin 1804 (Review & Giveaway)

MBP Goes Back to School

I've been searching for some great new fall fashion must-haves, lately. I set out on a recent shopping trip with my hubby and little B, to snag some great back to school deals, but I'll tell you what- shopping just isn't as fun as it used to be! I became almost outraged in some of the stores at the outlet mall, due to the prices of the out of season clothing. Plus, everything looked like the same old, same old, and I'm ready to branch out and start wearing some different styles and brands.

When I came across COIN 1804 a few weeks ago, I was pretty taken by their website, and their clothing line. I loved the unique, yet on trend fashion, and had a feeling that you all might like it, too!

COIN 1804 came about in 2005. Originally named Cotton Innovation, COIN 1804 strives to make 'luxe casual' wear for women, this is functional, unique, and comfortable. Their cotton clothing offers a truly unique wearing experience for the consumer, as they use a blend of premium cotton, and super unique fabric treatments. COIN 1804 helps gals to look effortlessly chic, at an affordable price point.

I connected with Tanny at Coin 1804, who graciously agreed to send me a few of my favorite pieces from their current line for review. It was really hard to narrow down which ones I liked the best, because I really, truly liked everything I saw on their website.

The few pieces that stood out to me were:

Burnout Owl Patch Tee

Ruched Skirt in Coffee

Drawstring Hoody Cardigan in Silver

Tanny wasted no time in sending me these gorgeous, versatile pieces, and I couldn't wait to try them on and have a fashion show at home! The first piece that I wound up wearing, despite the warm to super hot temperatures, here in NC, was the Drawstring Hoody Cardigan. I am a sweater-wearer. My husband usually has to pull me away from cardigan displays while we're shopping, because I almost can't pass them up. I think cardigans are must-haves for every woman's wardrobe- fall, winter, spring and summer! I am used to classic-looking cardigans, and love to rock them with shorts, khaki pants, skinny jeans, a skirt, over a dress, etc. What I really like about the drawstring hoody cardigan from COIN 1804, is that it's different from any of the other cardigans in my closet. I love the light weight feel of this cardigan. The striped effect, and the not really unraveled edges, give this cardigan a vintage look and feel. I love that I can button it up, leave it unbuttoned with the drawstring tied at the waist, or leave it completely open. This piece is pretty enough to be worn with a shirt or dress, and it's casual enough to throw over a t-shirt and wear with a pair of leggings, as it's a tunic-length cardigan! I've already deemed this as my go-to cardigan for wearing at home, when I get chilly in the house and need something to cover my arms. I've worn it with a nice-looking shirt, with jeans, and with a skirt, too! This cute cardigan comes in three colors: silver, coral and cream. I just might have to get one in every color!

The Drawstring Hoody Cardigan looks great with just about everything!

I love this look!

The Ruched Skirt is another favorite, because of its versatility! This super soft, comfy, light weight skirt is perfect for summer, and fall! I am enjoying wearing it now, while it's still hot out, with tank tops and sandals, and once it cools down, I know I'll enjoy wearing it with boots and a cute jacket! I always have trouble finding light weight skirts that fit, and flatter. This is a very forgiving, get figure flattering skirt, which really does hug the body in the places you want your clothing to hug. It isn't totally see-through, which means that I can wear it without a slip (yay!) during the summer months. When I was pregnant with Balian, I had a maternity skirt that was pretty similar to this one, but had to pack it away with the maternity clothes after he was born. I felt sad, and sure that I'd never find a skirt like it, that was meant for everyday wear. I am so glad that I came across this great ruched skirt from COIN 1804! I love, love, love it! I can wear this anytime- at home, playing with B, to church, on a date with my hubby, etc! This is probably my top pick for what every gal must have in her closet this fall! The other great thing about the ruched skirt, is that it can also be worn as a top! Yes! Wear it alone as a cute top, pair it with leggings, pair with a sweater, and bam- even more great looks from this one skirt! The Ruched Skirt is available in coffee, midnight, asphalt, charcoal and black! Get one or two in different colors and style them up!

Lastly, the Burnout Owl Tee was an unusual pick for me. I don't usually gravitate toward graphic tees, but when I saw the owl, and the cute design, combined with the soft, comfy-look of the shirt, I knew it had to be a part of my fall/winter wardrobe! The burnout tee is so soft! I love the sheerness of the tee. It's light weight, and perfect for layering! The asymmetrical neckline is a different style than what most of my tops feature, so I  like that about it, as well. The back of the shirt is longer than the front, and is rounded at the bottom. I love this, because it means that I can comfortably sit in a meeting, rehearsal, or be out in public, without flashing anything to anyone, and it also covers my tattoo, which peeks out, every now and then. This is the perfect shirt to wear with skinny jeans and flats, or leggings this fall! I've tried it on, for the sake of the review, and I absolutely cannot wait for cooler weather! I want to wear this shirt now! The owl design on the Burnout Owl Tee, is grey, with silver foiling around the edges. He's a big, appliqued owl, and I like him. I know that owl everything is pretty trendy right now, and I've avoided the trend as far as home decor and jewelry, but I love the owl on this shirt, and love that he's silver, too! I figured the Burnout Owl Tee and Drawstring Hoody  Cardigan would make a great pairing, and I was right! I love the way these two pieces look together (see photo above)!
