I have been a big fan of yoga and Pilates for many years. I enjoy doing workouts that combine both yoga and Pilates, and during a recent workout, I noticed that my nineteen month old son, Balian was very interested in the way I was moving. He's really way too young to understand the purpose behind yoga and Pilates- for meditation, fitness and overall good health, but who am I to tell him he can't exercise with mommy?

Children's yoga classes and work out videos that parents can guide them through at home is the latest trend in fitness. I am so excited to see more and more parents wanting to be active with their children. Trust me, I know how easy it is and how good it would be to just plop on the couch after dinner and watch television until bedtime, but staying active until it's time to wind down just makes good sense, all around!

Through my affiliation with Tomoson.com, I recently received the opportunity to review the award-winning Storyland Yoga DVD for kids, by Playful Planet! Storyland Yoga is a really neat yoga adventure, which tells two stories: 'Save the Whale,' and 'Condor Trek.' As the DVD plays, the stories unfold, and kids (and parents) become part of the story. Each story combines easy yoga positions, breathing techniques, and the children get to imitate animals!

Yoga is a fantastic form of exercise for the whole family. We've watched and worked through the DVD together after dinner. We usually take an after dinner walk around the neighborhood as a family, but lately, we haven't been able to do that due to bad weather and lots of rainy evenings. Balian has enjoyed watching the activity on DVD, and has laughed and laughed as mommy and daddy have tried their best to imitate all of the moves!

Storyland Yoga DVD for Kids is intended for ages 3+, and is packaged in 100% recycled materials. This would make a great gift, or summer fun activity! This would also be great to have on hand for summer camp programs, teachers, vacation bible schools, day care centers and more!
