Superheros are a big deal at our house. Beckett is really into them, which in turn, makes little sister likes them too. B has some Superhero dress up clothing and it is not easy to share with sister, so she usually ends up wearing her princess dress up clothes and being a Superhero that way. Until recently that is, because we were introduced to an amazing "Superhero company" called Power Capes. 

Power Capes specializes in making custom Superhero clothing and accessories. Started by a very smart woman named Holly, Power Capes is made up of a team of Moms, Dads, and a whole group of people who want you to look your Superhero best and truly feel like you can save the world. Power Capes are manufactured in the United States, each one made by hand for children and adults around the world.


After communicating with Kelly from Power Capes, we were ready to go and find out what fun we could get into. I was sent a special code so that I could create my very own custom Power Cape. I was able to go to the Power Cape website and browse through every option (which there are tons of) and customize the perfect cape for Scarlett. I knew she needed some of her own Superhero gear to play with big brother, so this was the perfect opportunity for us.

Scarlett and I started in the Power Capes Product section. We decided to go the custom route, so S could have a perfect custom superhero cape to call her own.

We first had to pick a cape size, available in three options:

Sidekick- 22" and appropriate for ages 2-7, Hero- 30" for 6-10+, and Superhero- 48" and adult sized.

Next we had to pick a cape color, available in 16 options from lime green to light purple.

Choice 2- Cape Color-Light Pink

Next was our cape emblem, with 8 options to choose from.

Choice 3-Crown

Followed by our cape emblem color, with 34 options, 13 are sparkled colors.

Choice 4-Fuchsia Sparkle

Next came cape letter, all 26 letters are available.

Choice 5-S

Our last decision was letter color, again available in 34 options, 13 with sparkles.

Choice 6-Yellow

We added our superhero cape creation to our online shopping cart, put in our special code, and here is what arrived in the mail about a week later...

We had a good time going through all our choices and creating the perfect superhero cape for S. She was so excited when it came in the mail and had to put it on right away. She immediately ran through the house and became the new Superhero--

"Super Princess Girl"

 The trick to getting the bad guy at our house is with kisses, amazing how quickly you can defeat someone this way. I love that our superhero cape has an easy to use Velcro tab around the neck, S can easily get her cape on and off herself, which is a big deal and is safe. Our cape and all its add ons are on a satin material and all add ons are embroidered, it has held up very nicely with all the love it has gotten.  To clean, wash on the gentle cycle and line dry, iron on the inside if needed. I am not much for ironing so ours is a bit wrinkled, but doesn't seem to make a difference getting all the bad guys it has defeated.
