It's that time of year again, when we start to pull out the baking supplies and start baking our little hearts away! Cupcakes and cookies, cakes and pies, truffles and brownies, oh my! All the goodies our fingers can create, don our homes and fill our nostrils with the scents of the holidays. It is such an amazing time of year, but it always seems there's a last minute baking emergency. Little Beth needs a dozen cookies for the school Christmas party, John needs cupcakes for the sports team celebration, it's never ending. Or, some times we want to make treats, but are not very imaginative when it comes to decorating them. Well Bonnie Sweeten, with Sweet'n Treats, has taken the guess work out of decorating for you.

Bonnie Sweeten, welcomed her first child in August 2010, and wanted a business that would allow her to spend time at home with her new bundle of joy. She decided to combine her love of baking and her graphic arts career into Sweet'n Treats. Sweet'n Treats is a fully customizable, edible toppers for cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and anything you can imagine. Bonnie was kind enough to send me some cupcake toppers to review, and to boot, they were Christmas themed, perfect for the holiday parties I have to go to in the next week. I had been worried about what to take to our little Christmas get together at work before the big company party, but when I was asked to bring cupcakes, I was so excited to get to use the edible cupcake toppers!

Sweet'n Treats Cupcake Toppers

When I opened the packages of toppers, I couldn't get enough of the cute Christmas characters and holiday messages that adorned the toppers. They were beautifully designed, and such a great size for a cupcake or cookie, I couldn't wait to get started on my cupcakes. I decided to bake some white cupcakes with sprinkles inside, I thought it would go well with the festiveness of the Sweet'n Treat Toppers. Once the cupcakes were cooled and frosted, it is very important that the cupcakes are cool before you frost them and put the toppers on them. I know it sounds silly, that we all know that they need to be cool, but I promise you, we have all gotten ahead of ourselves and frosted them a tad too early, only to end up with a goopy mess of melted frosting! After you frost the cupcake, you can then peel the backing of the topper off and apply it to the top of the cupcake. If you have edges that have exposed frosting, Bonnie suggests adding sprinkles to them to add a little sparkle and shine. You could also pipe some designs around the edges as well! It's really up to you, he possibilities are endless. Once I was finished with the cupcakes, had them packed and ready to go, I took them to work for all of the lovely friends that I work with to enjoy! They were a hit! I heard many of my coworkers saying that they wished they had known about Sweet'n Treats before they had to bake all of their children goodies for school, or events!
