Before having kids, I was not much of a makeup wearer, I wore it daily, just not a lot of it, I'm talking mascara, lip gloss, a bit of powder, but nothing really more. I would wear more for special occasions, but would never know exactly what the best stuff out there was or want to spend too much on it because I would end of wasting most of it.
Now I am a mom, the kind who is a stay-at-home, but who is always busy and not at home. Between preschool, soccer, Kindermusik, dance, we are on the go constantly. I probably wear even less now (unless we are going somewhere nicer), and some days none at all, I just don't always have time to get it done before we are out the door, plus it doesn't ever last long enough for me to get through the whole day without having to reapply some of it, namely to my lips
I was recently contacted by Michelle, who works for a company called SeneGence. She asked if I would be interested in trying out some of their makeup product, LipSense, and also sent me a press release to read. I, of course, jumped right into reading the press release which gave me a pretty good feel about who SeneGence is and told Michelle I would definitely be interested in trying out the products.
SeneGence is a fairly young company, started in 1999 by a newly single mom. The premier product for the company was the LipSense, which is now used by professional makeup artists and celebs around the world. LipSense is a kiss-proof, smudge-proof, budge-proof, lead-free liquid lip color which lasts up to 12 hours. I couldn't wait to be wearing something so "cool" that people like singer Christina Aguilara and co-host of The View, Joy Behar were also using and loving.
SeneGence is also an environmentally conscious company. They never test on animals, use naturally occurring ingredients, reduce paper waste by eliminating product box packaging, formulated with FDA approved ingredients, made in the US with tight quality control.
Michelle had me select a shade category that I would feel comfortable with, I went with the Mauve category, something not too dark, but definitely noticeable on my lips. The day I got my products in the mail, couldn't have been a more perfect chance to try them out (dinner out with some girlfriends). They were packaged very well to eliminate any chance for damage during shipping.
Here is what I received in my package:
My package contained the LipSense collection of one .25 ounce Mauve Ice Long Lasting Liquid Lip Color, one .25 ounce Glossy Moisturizing Gloss, and one .25 ounce Ooops! Remover. They are all labeled with directions for application, ingredients, and sealed for protection. Michelle also wrote me a quick note, which was such a great thing, because she gave me a bit insider info about the Lip Color that I otherwise would not have known and I am so grateful for.
Insider tip: Some users occasionally experience a tingling sensation upon their initial application, especially if lips are dry, this sensation will subside after a few days of continued use.
As I was getting ready to go out, I did my regular "going out" makeup and added the LipSense in. I read the very easy to follow directions, applied my first swipe on my lips, and immediately felt the tingling of the Lip Color. Had I not known this little bit of advice, I would have said "what the heck is this stuff" and probably never touched it again.
It was SO easy and quick to apply, you take the applicator of the Lip Color and starting in the outside corner, with your lips parted, and slide to the opposite corner without lifting the applicator and do not go back and forth. You let it dry for 3-5 seconds and do a second and third layer. You then top with the LipSense Gloss. I loved the way it looked and that it immediately felt dry.
I went out, ate lots of delicious Greek food, drank my favorite-Diet Cokes, talked, and visited with friends for around 4 hours. I was happily surprised that when I came home, you could still tell I had Lip Color on. If it lasted well through all of that, my everyday routine would be easy.
I said earlier that I am not much of a makeup wearer, but I tell you, I have picked up my Mauve Ice Liquid Lip Color and Glossy Lip Gloss tons since I received it. My mom even commented on how much I must like it because I was using so frequently. On a side note, the tingling has also subsided after using it a few times.
I am for sure a new fan of the LipSence collection by SeneGence. They also have tons of other products for the eyes, face, nails, skin, hair, and body, plus different types of treatment products. I would love to try the Lashextend or the Sculpting Body Lotion. Thank you so much Michelle for introducing me to, and providing me with, these great products!!
