Eco Lips Review and Giveaway

Part of our Father's Day Gift Guide...

I am a lip balm junkie! Seriously, I used to have a problem where I just had to apply lip balm every half hour. Who would have thought that you could become addicted to lip balm? Over the past few years, I have literally had to wean myself from using so many applications of lip balm in one day. Now when I purchase a lip balm, I have to be extra careful to buy balms that will moisturize my lips for a long time, so that I'm not tempted to apply balm all day long.

When I was given the opportunity to try some balms from Eco Lips, I was immediately intrigued. As I looked through their entire catalog of balms, I was in heaven! There were so many balms to choose from, and the best thing of all is that Eco Lips balms are completely natural!

A little about Eco Lips...
Andrea Danielson started creating small batches of balms in the early 90's. Andrea gave a sample of her lip balm to a man named Steve Shriver, and her life changed forever. Steve had larger than average lips, and was continually searching for the perfect balm. When he tried Andrea's balm, he fell in love with it... and in love with Andrea! Steve and Andrea were married in 1997, and together built a private label body care product by 2003.

From the Eco Lips website...
Today, Eco Lips lip balm is handcrafted in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  With the mission of satisfying the needs of every customer, Eco Lips has been first to market with several innovative organic lip care products and packages.  With environmental initiatives in place, a focused marketing and sales strategy, award winning packaging, and a relaxed, yet productive work environment, Eco Lips is making its way around the world, one set of lips at a time.

I was given the opportunity to select three balms of my choice to try out! There were so many to choose from, I had such a hard time picking out the ones I wanted. Because I think every girl should be able to get a hint of color from a lip balm instead of having to apply sticky lip gloss (come on, we can't be kissing our babes with sticky gloss), I visited the Eco Tints Tinted Lips Care category in their web store. They have six tints to choose from, so I chose the Rose Quartz. I made the right choice! It's the perfect balance of moisturizing balm and a hint of color. The color is neutral enough for me to wear every day, yet bold enough to wear on a Sunday morning.

Another balm I tried was from the One World balm category. These balms are made with exotic oils from around the world! I chose to try the Restore- Soothing Lip Balm, which has a coconut ginger flavor. Yum! This balm contains Tamanu Oil, to heal dry, damaged skin. I'll definitely be reaching for this in the winter months, but it's so refreshing that it's perfect to use during the summer months, too! There are three different One World balms to choose from.

The third balm I tried was one that I was particularly excited about. Eco Lips has an SPF 30 Face Stick! Yes- it's sun protection in a stick, and it's for your entire face! My entire family got to try the Face Stick while we were at the beach a couple of weeks ago, and everyone loved it! It didn't leave our skin feeling gross or greasy. The stick went on smoothly, and because it's all natural, I felt comfortable using it on Balian's baby face (trying to put sunscreen on a baby's face is really hard!), and it worked beautifully! The face stick kept us all well protected, and it was so easy just to toss into my beach bag and then transfer to my purse later on. The Eco Lips Face Stick is a mommy must have!

I was also sent Eco Lips' Gold USDA Certified Organic Lip Balm to try, and it came on an Eco Lips Carabiner! The Carabiner is really cool. I am forever losing my balms in my purse, and the carabiner makes it easy for me to clip my balm to the inside of my purse pocket, and never have to search for it again!
I've actually found a wonderful use for it... I clipped it to my stroller's mesh bag, so that way, I always have a lip balm handy when I'm walking with Balian. Perfect!

Carabiner clips right onto my stroller bag!

I am including Eco Lips in my Father's Day Gift Guide 2011, because if you have a hard to buy for dad or husband, a gift set from Eco Lips would make a wonderful gift! Everyone needs a good lip balm, and you really can't go wrong with items like the Face Stick and the Carabiner. There are also other accessories to choose from on the Eco Lips website!
