Hey everyone! I realize that it's been a couple of days since my last post. I'd say I'm sorry- but I'm on vacation, so I don't feel too badly about taking a wee break from the blogging world. We're having a great time here at the beach- Oak Island, NC, to be exact. The beach was pretty empty a few days ago, but now that the holiday weekend is here, there are many more people joining together on the island for some fun in the sun!

We've been up since about 6:30 this morning. Just because it's a vacation for the adults, that doesn't mean that Balian knows that we're all supposed to SLEEP IN! That's okay- we sat out on the porch and had coffee, went for a walk (w/Balian in the Bjorn... BIG mistake!), had breakfast, and now little man is asleep on my lap as I write this, and we'll soon be headed out to the beach for some play time. Balian is enjoying playing in the sand, and getting used to the water. There have been a lot of jelly fish both in the water and washing up on the shore, so we're having to be extra careful. And just a couple of days ago, B and I were sitting in the shallow water, playing, and who decided to come and join us but a crab!? Oh, the fun!

Balian's Uncle Matt bought him a little baby swimmy pool, so we'll take that with us today, and Balian can safely splash his little heart out. No one is sun burned, thank goodness. I hate how I look in my bathing suit, but I guess it could be a lot worse. I needed to have gotten a tankini, but just didn't have the time to go hunting for one before we headed down here. I'm hoping to hit the outlet mall before we leave this place, but who knows... we're just kind of doing whatever, whenever. One thing is for sure, though- having a baby at the beach is a lot of hard work- but well worth it for these precious first moments!

Ooo- he just woke up! So, that's it- we're headed out to the ocean for some sun and fun! We'll catch you all later. Hope everyone is and continues to have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend!
