Here in New Hanover County, tomorrow is the last day of school. What better way to celebrate than by participating in National Donut Day?
Held on the First Friday of June, this holiday originated from the Salvation Army in 1938. The original holiday was to honor Salvation Army members who served soliders donuts during World War I. They were called Donut Lassies.
Today, the holiday has expanded and includes many different forms of celebrations!
