As we grow older, it gets easier to see the world through a harsher lens.  Maybe it’s the headlines. Maybe it’s life experience. Maybe it’s just the wear and tear of growing up. But one thing becomes painfully clear, the world can be ugly. People can be cold. And we start to protect ourselves by judging quicker, loving slower, and building walls higher than we ever intended.

But then, every so often, a child reminds us what it’s like to be soft. To be open. To be kind without hesitation.

Children don’t ask for credentials before they share their toys.
They don’t care about where you’re from, what you look like, or who you vote for.
If you sit beside them in the sandbox, you’re a friend. If you laugh at their silly joke, you’re a best friend. If you smile at them, they smile back, not because they think they should, but because they want to.

That kind of purity? It’s powerful. It’s the kind of quiet, everyday magic this world desperately needs more of.

On this Touching Tuesday, take a moment to look at the world through a child’s eyes. Not with naivety, but with hope. With curiosity. With an instinct to connect rather than compare.

Let a child’s simplicity remind us that kindness doesn’t have to be complicated.
You don’t have to know someone’s story to hold the door open, to offer a compliment, or to just see them.

Because even though the world can be ugly, it can also be unbelievably beautiful. And most of the time, that beauty starts with the little things. The everyday touches. The small moments of human connection that ripple further than we ever realize.

Let’s be more like the kids on the playground.
Let’s be quicker to play, slower to judge.
Let’s be the kind of people who make strangers feel like friends.
