One of my favorite ways to channel my creativity is through home decorating. When my husband and I purchased our 1923 Craftsman home in 2022, we knew we in were for a long renovation process. We ripped out our kitchen and have been painstakingly piecing it back together little by little, and moving through other rooms in our house with updates. We've painted, put up drywall, have hung new fixtures and added new hardware inside and out.

With so many projects on our list, it can feel like there's no light at the end of this long renovation tunnel. To spark joy for my family, and for myself, I spend a lot of time decorating the areas of our home that have been completed (at least for now).

One of the challenges of decorating has been our dining room. It's a fairly large room with lots of windows, and wall space, along with a good deal of floor space, too. Honestly, it's perfect for large family gatherings, and has become 'the place' for gathering. After we hosted Thanksgiving in this house for the first time, I quickly realized that we needed additional serving space, and that a second sideboard would be really useful. With my hubby in agreement, we began looking for multi-functional sideboards that would add extra beauty, charm, and serving/storage space to our dining room.

While this is a fairly solid piece of furniture, it comes in a flat pack, ready to assemble. Lucky for me, my husband has put together many-a-flat pack, and is is pretty speedy with assembly. Our oldest daughter was even able to help put this together. It looked sort of intimidating with so many pieces, and after reading the reviews online, I was sure this was going to take a couple of hours to put together. My husband surprised me with having this cabinet built in less than forty-five minutes with no mistakes.

Placement is key. This cabinet helps to balance out the walls in this room, and gives us more serving and storage space.

We placed the cabinet on the one empty wall that we had left in our dining room, which badly needed a piece of furniture on it. While it took me a few days to get used to the cabinet being there, I have really grown to love that it's there now, and the way it looks.

Beauty and function. Who doesn't love multipurpose furnishings?

At 59" wide, this long cabinet has ample space for serving. It's the perfect place to serve drinks or appetizers from when we have guests over, or family gatherings. The cabinet features four barn-style doors, which open outward to reveal two shelves per side. This is the perfect place to store table linens, serving pieces, etc. I have way too many serving pieces, and cannot wait to fill this beautiful cabinet with more treasures as I unbox them from our move. I also love the tall legs on the cabinet. My robovac and easily swoop right under it and vaccuum up crumbs and dust with no problem.
