Sundays Are For...

Happy Sunday, all! As I prepare my heart for worship this morning, I am wondering what Sundays look like for you?

In my family, Sundays are for worship. Since I was a small child, I have always gone to church on Sundays, and participated in worship. Up until last fall, I was a volunteer worship leader for nearly twenty years. Though I am now paid as staff to co-lead worship at my church, I still feel the same love and joy for service as I did during those volunteer years.

Worship is the best way for me to start my day, every day of the week. Sundays may feel a bit different, seeing as how I have a job to do, and there are certain pressures and expectations, but the joy of the Lord is at the heart of it all. Though I'm doing my job, our time of corporate worship still affords me a beautiful worship experience, and allows me to bring an offering to the Father.

Sundays are also for family time, especially in the summer. During the school year, Sundays are filled with worship services, programming, and rehearsals, so I do enjoy the break we get from all of that once May rolls around. It gives my family the opportunity to go to church and worship, and then do something else as a family- go swimming, have a cookout, catch a movie, etc. Sometimes we even just catch up on things that need to be done around the house. Having nowhere to be on a Sunday afternoon is a true gift.

What are Sundays for in your family? I'd love to hear more about what you do on Sundays. Be sure to drop a comment below or chat with me over on Facebook or Instagram.

Wishing you a beautiful Sunday,
