Sundays are such a busy day for my family. We're out the door and on our way to church by 7:30 each Sunday morning and are usually back at church in the early evening, and not getting home until 6:30 - 7 pm. We try to eat dinner as early as possible on school nights, but that's not really possible for us on Sundays. I needed a solution for dinner. Something that I could quickly throw together before I have to head back to church, that my husband could simply warm up and have ready to go when I get home.
No one in my house is overly fond of crockpot meals or casseroles... they certainly don't make it easy on this mom of three, who always seems to be short on time. I saw an Instagram Reel pop up in my feed which featured a family who always has sliders for dinner on Sundays. 'Gosh,' I thought, 'they must get tired of that after a while.' The appeal of easy little sandwiches that could be changed up week to week was very appealing, however, so I decided to give it a whirl.
When I told my husband that we'd be having sliders for dinner on Sunday nights for the foreseeable future, he didn't bat an eye. 'Sounds good to me,' he said. I had him hooked, but it would be up to me to come up with sandwiches he'd actually want to eat and keep the rotation interesting.
I had three ideas for sliders right off the bat, and those were Ham and Cheese, Roast Beef with Au Jus, and Chicken Parm. Easy, right? You bet! Not only were they easy to throw together, they were all delicious! All of these sliders use few ingredients, take less than five minutes to assemble, and require just a few minutes in the oven.
