Motivational Monday - Rest in The Lord!

Isaiah 40:31 says "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." How thankful I am to endlessly receive renewed strength in the Lord!

5 am Monday morning comes way too early. My alarm started to go off, I grumbled and turned in my warm bed. I could hear my daughter stirring as the alarm echoed through the house. It was just enough of a wake up call for her to walk across the hallway to our bedroom to cuddle. As she snuggled into the blankets, it was extra tough to muster up the motivation to get up this morning.

Honestly, it’s been tough to get up many mornings because I’m tired.

I had a mouth procedure over Spring Break and my body has been fighting off infection from this problem for so long that I’m tired. Other things have been going on in my life that are out of my control and I’m tired. We’re in the home stretch of the school year -  the time of year that makes students (and us teachers) crazy - and I’m tired

I’m. So. Tired.

The thing is, I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. How many of us are tired? How much do we moms juggle that makes us so tired? The care of our family, the keeping of the house, our jobs outside of the home, all the things that pile on us to make us just plain exhausted. But there is hope!

In Jeremiah 31:25, it says “I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” In Psalm 62:5, “Yes, my soul finds rest in God; My hope comes from Him.”, and in Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Praise the Lord that we can find rest, strength, and refreshment of our souls in Him! Thank you, Jesus! I know my days would be so much harder to go through without these promises. When I am tired and weary, I cling to verses such as these to remind me that in every step of the way, I can lean on Him.

Friends, I encourage you to do the same. When you are tired, go to the promises you can find in His Word and allow them to strengthen you and give you the peace and comfort you need. He will give your tired soul rest!

I hope you all have an amazing Monday and a fabulous week. Many blessings to you all!
