Sweeten Up The Holidays with a Harbor Sweets Chocolate Gift Box

Thanks Harbor Sweets, for sending this gift box over in exchange for a review. All thoughts are my own.

Just the other day, I was in a conversation regarding holiday baking. I can be a baker, when I want to, but it is a lot of work when I already have an abundance of things to do during the holiday season. Working in a church leading up to Christmas Eve services is definitely no joke!

The person I spoke with commented that she was not and never has been a baker, but she still likes her holiday sweets. Of course, baking is different from chocolate, but both are still sweets that we consume at the holidays! I am no Chocolatier but I have tried to make various concoctions over the years: bon bons, truffles, etc. I'm not bad, but the southern humidity makes it difficult, and well, time. I still have all my molds though!

If you are like my friend and want the sweets without the hassle, check out Harbor Sweets. This MA based company makes handmade chocolates that anyone will love to find in their holiday gift pile. I'm sad that the Whale of a Christmas Advent Calendar wasn't available at the time of this article, because that would have been a fun way to get through the Advent season.

Instead, I was sent the Nordic Moonlight Shadow Chocolate Gift Box to check out. This box has a shadow picture of a Nordic scene: deer, snow, tree, and of course, the moon! It arrives with ribbon already, so no need to gift wrap. The box is more than enough wrapping!

It contains 40 pieces of Harbor Sweets "the best chocolate in the world" collections ranging from milk, dark, and white chocolate pieces. All pieces are individually wrapped in gold foil!

Harbor Sweets has some signature chocolate pieces that are included in this box. Being in MA, this company takes advantage of the water features surrounding the state and towns.

  • The Signature Sweet Sloop represents a sailboat, but don't let this almond toffee and pecan swirl chocolate sink you to the bottom of the bay!
  • The Gluten-Free Marblehead Mint will have you racing for more! Be sure to leave some for after Christmas Day!
  • The pecan dipped chocolate will have you wishing for sunny beach days as you enjoy the Sand Dollar's Chocolatey goodness.
  • Sweet Shells will entice you to scoop up a handful of this rich dark chocolate with a hint of orange in it.
  • Gift hospitality and love to your friends and family visiting this season by leaving the pineapple stamped Friendship Sweets for them. Wouldn't it make a nice bed "mint"?
  • The Barque Sarah has you jumping for the almondy goodness mixed with milk chocolate.
  • Solid Milk Chocolate can't be wrong with the Periwinkles!

Harbor Sweets has several holiday collections if this Nordic Box isn't the theme you desire. From Winter wonderland to non-designed chocolate gift boxes, there is a chocolate and taste for everyone. Most of Harbor Sweets products do contain nuts so be aware of allergies if gifting to your loved ones. Although they do have gluten-free options, their products are made around nuts.

If creamy chocolate pieces aren't your cup of tea, maybe you need hot cocoa to fill it up! Harbor Sweets Cocoa Sante collection will please any chocolate lover, no matter whether you like your hot cocoa cold or iced!

I probably love good chocolate a tad bit too much, and Harbor Sweets is no exception. I love specialty chocolates more than the candy aisle full of Hershey products. Maybe blame my NYE in Belgium, or time in France, or any other time I had European chocolate.

Harbor Sweets chocolate is tasty, but not sugary as some candies can be. Its creamy and there is the right delicate balance of flavors. I tried two pieces, after all, I need this box to last, and both were outstanding!

The box doesn't have a flavor profile with it, which actually does annoy me. Years of reaching into the Russell Stovers box to get that pink flavored fluff makes me still gag. Id rather know what chocolate I'm biting into, but I understand there are people out there that like it a mystery.

I opened the Pineapple friendship piece and the sailboat signature piece. The friendship piece is solid dark chocolate with a pineapple imprint. Very smooth and flavorful chocolate is found in this piece.

The Signature Sweet Sloop is impressive. A sailboat imprint has chocolate dipped in pecans but houses an almond crunch base. These flavors work and left me wanting more!

Christmas Morning might have a lot of sweets surrounding the kitchen table, but be sure to add Harbor Sweets under the tree for an impressive gift. They work well for office parties, secret santa gifts, and perhaps even a white elephant exchange!

Thanks to Harbor Sweets for participating in our gift guide this holiday season.
