Summer. Road Trips. Park Visits. Beach/ Pool time. Backyard Adventures. There are so many of these activities that we do in the summer! Maybe we pack up our lunches and head out for an adventure. Maybe we scarf down our afternoon snacks on the patio while watching our kids run through the sprinkler, again.No matter what we get into, adults need snacks just as much as our littles! When our stomachs are empty, we get grouchy and upset just like a toddler. This summer, grab a package of Scott's Protein Balls to sustain you through your next adventure. These are perfect snacks for any age, but I think teens and adults would love them mostly. Your littles might not like the taste, but they could surprise you!
Scott's Protein Balls started because its founders wanted to live a clean lifestyle. Have you looked at the ingredients in your latest snack bag? Most likely it's cringeworthy. I am far from living a clean lifestyle, but I start to recognize that good snack choices affects my mood and how I live out the rest of the day. Those filled with sugars and processed stuff often make me tired, anxious, and ready for bed. The good kind of snacks are filled with items that help fuel us, give us energy, and give us the nutrients needed to take on the day!
Several flavors are available but be sure to check out the brand-new flavor that just debuted a week ago: Peanut Butter Cup. Peanut Butter is one of my staples. I am sad for all those with nut allergies because Peanut Butter has been my life since I was old enough to eat it. I especially love the Peanut Butter cup format (Reese's cups, other chocolate candies) and have even made my own protein balls in the past.
This peanut butter cup protein ball tastes great! There is a special blend that allows all the ingredients to bind together without it being too dry or tasteless. This package contains 4 protein balls that need to be refrigerated. Make sure to eat them by the date on the packaging, but I honestly don't think that will be a problem! There are two serving sizes in each package. Each serving has about 9 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber with 160 calories.
Scott's Protein Balls come in a myriad of other flavors as well: Confetti, Brownie Batter, Snickerdoodle. Peanut Butter Cacao, Mint Chocolate Chip, Java Peanut Butter, and Red Velvet.
I can't wait to try the Confetti and Brownie Batter flavors, but the peanut butter protein balls have filled me up for the moment! There are 4 count sampler sized bags available as well as larger bags of 10 & 20 count.
I think that's my own concern with these snacks as that means they can't be stashed in a bag while you are heading out the door if you live in 100+ temps like I do. Cooler bags? Sure. They are also freezable!
Some folks enjoy Scott's Protein Balls as a meal replacement, but personally, I love them as an afternoon snack when I'm hungry, but it's not quite dinner time! 2–3 balls will fill me up! The 4 count packaging actually might be too much in one sitting unless I did have a late breakfast and missed lunch.
I highly encourage you to grab some and add them to your snack collection. If you pack a lunch cooler or a cooler tote for your next adventure, they will certainly stay fresh and edible!
