Now, fast forward to the beginning of May, as it was already getting warm, we decided to go ahead and open the pool ourselves and save some money. As we began to take the tarp off of the pool, my husband quickly noticed that we had several large tears in the liner. My heart sank, as I knew that our pool opening would be delayed, and my pockets would be a bit thinner so to say. We immediately started calling around to some pool companies and found a few to give us a quote on a new liner. We also noticed that our sand filter was leaking and our pump was making a very loud noise. But you know the saying when it rains it pours, and dang are we finding that to be true.
$2500 for a new liner and installation, $95 for the leak repair, and $350 for a new pump, because of course the pump was failing! We got the liner installed and the leak fixed, but now we're just waiting on the new pump to be installed. I mean, at this point I might as well go plant a money tree, because this pool is draining me, pun intended, lol. Now, with that being said, I don't regret buying a home with a pool, but it is a lot of work and maintenance, but the reward is well worth it! We had planned to tackle putting up a new fence and re-doing the pool deck, but that is going to have to be a project for the fall!
For now, I'll be enjoying my pool (once the pump is installed) and pool deck all Summer long!
