Dive Into a Good Book with the Aardvark Book Club

What is the best Valentine's Day gift you have received? Was it one that is thoughtful, carefully selected for your personality, and wasn't a run-of-the-mill last minute purchase?

While not a traditional Valentine's Day Gift, Aardvark Book Club memberships would make a great gift for who long to touch a book and devour its contents.

Growing up, I always had books in hand. In fact, I remember that Sunday afternoon visits with my grandfather often included a trip to Toys R Us, and then later a book store, to pick out the latest children's or teen book. I went through all the Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High, Babysitters Club, and much more series. Of course, I utilized my school's library, loved the scholastic book fairs, and loved reading when I could!

As an adult, I often read for relaxation but love utilizing my public library through my Kindle. Sometimes, I'm just on the go too much to take a bunch of books with me (schlepping books through the airport to various conferences gets heavy!) Yet, sometimes I have difficulty finding authors, genres, and titles of books that I'd be interested in. This makes me extremely interested in a book club like Aardvark!

Aardvark Book Club is a membership subscription service with a community aspect. Each month, a team selects 4-5 new release titles from various genres like romance, thriller, historical fiction, and mystery.

Using a phone app, members can select the book they wish to purchase. A $17.99 membership fee allows the member to select one book monthly. Two additional books can be purchased per month at a cost of $9.99 each.

So, of course, you could join the Aardvark Book Club on your own for a wonderful Valentine's Day Gift to yourself, but if you are looking to offer this subscription service to a loved one, there are three options offered in gift card form.

Gift Subscription for one month (3 books), two months (6 books), and three months (9 books) are available for the book-lover to enjoy! The gift recipient must create an account, then email Aardvark before placing their order for their gift to be activated. Unless the gift recipient signs up for a paid account, they will not be charged when their gift ends. They will be prompted to sign up though, so make sure to warn them.

Aardvark sent me three books from a couple of genres to try out, which resembles the gift subscription. Of course, both types allow the gift recipient to pick their own books, but if they have trouble, then the Aardvark staff is available to help! I received 3 hardcover books from the historical fiction, romance, and literary fiction genres.

None of the books are ones I've heard of before, which makes it even more fun! I can't wait to dive into all of them and see what goodness the Aardvark team sent me. All three books are considered new releases because they were published in January. One of the great things about Aardvark is not only are new releases available to pick, but any past book can be picked as long as inventory allows!

Right now, credits do not roll over for either the gift selection or monthly membership selections. If you don't use them, you lose them. For gift selections, all 3 books must be picked at once.

The Aardvark Online community might be the coolest thing about this book club. I have wanted to join local book clubs for ages, but it never seems to work out. I try to put it into my schedule but another work engagement or social thing always seems to pop up.

The nice thing about the online community (via app or FB group) is that interaction is up to the reader. One could comment, ask questions, etc. whenever time allows. Or one can scroll and be a fly on the wall, as many do with social media these days. Aardvark encourages readers to review/ describe books with emojis in their online community too!
