Leslie Pierson and Alex Butler, started off with just some good ideas and a sense of family fun. Alex (now age 10) was 7 when he started dreaming up wacky cards like Hot Yogurt and Salty Lollipop, which eventually became Taco vs. Burrito, a No. 1 bestselling card game on Amazon. After play testing with his parents and launching his first Kickstarter, the game took off and became a deliciously unpredictable hit!
Taco vs Burrito
This is a deliciously unpredictable card game where players compete to create the weirdest, wildest meal. This game is easy to learn and not so easy to win. Fun for (and play-tested by) all ages, Taco vs. Burrito is the ultimate Game Night Food Fight! Surprisingly strategic and with more than five ways to play, this feast of fun is designed for kids and adults alike to keep returning for seconds. All you need to do is put together the dish with the most points, and watch out for the health inspector! My family and I came up with some pretty disgusting meals! haha
Bold Made
After the success of Taco vs. Burrito, games were on the mind of this Seattle family. As a mom, Leslie worried about the effect of the outdated game Old Maid on kids, so Alexchallenged her to make a better version. EnterBold Made: a refreshing 21st-century remake, swapping out the dated notion of avoiding an old, unmarried woman in favor of celebrating amazing women for the remarkable things they have achieved. Alex added some strategic gameplay, and the two raised over $177,000 on Kickstarter(more than 1000 times their goal!) to get BoldMade fully realized out in the world, making game night a little less problematic and a lot more fun.
Bold Made has three ways to play:
1. Bold Made Classic plays just like Old Maid except you are pairing 2 women in a category (astronaut, writer, artist, etc) and the goal is to end the game with the Bold Made Card! This was our favorite way to play. It was fun to discuss the women as we played.
2. Bold Made Advanced is perfect for older kids and adults! It is highly strategic and takes about 15 minutes to play with 2-4 players.
3. Go Bold plays just like Go Fish but instead of saying Go Fish, you say Go Bold.
