Many thanks to Pockimal for sending these great pocket-sized stuffies in exchange for a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. |
My niece and nephew head back to school this week. For many children in our lives, the excitement of returning to school quickly gives way to the worry and anxiety of the unknown. New routines, new teachers, new classmates create situations where children might feel nervous and unsure how to act. Having a "friend" will help alleviate some of that anxiety- but it is hard to take a blanket or plush stuffed animal with you.
Pockimals are perfect for those situations where your children need security but also want to have a friend with them to help alleviate anxiety. Small pocket sized plush friends are available for kids with sensory issues, with anxiety issues, and kids that just want to have fun and play with their new friends.
At 3 inches tall, they are small enough to fit into pockets, but large enough to have lots of fun while playing! The best part is that each pockimal is made with a button. Button the pockimal into a tee, dress, or bag so that it doesn't disappear, but is always with you!
Pockimal sent over a few items for my niece and nephew's creative free play time. All pockimals are animal- but range from farm animal to imaginative play ones like dragons and unicorns.
My niece loves ALL things piggy, so of course, she received a Piggie Pig. Since my nephew wants EVERYTHING that my niece has the Piggie Pig best friends pack was a great choice. This arrives with 2 of the same pockimal. One can be shared with a friend (or a sibling, to alleviate that arguing!). Granted, now they will argue whose Pig belongs to whom, but you know, children!
Each child also received their own pockimal. My nephew received Rascal Fox, because he certainly is a rascal. My niece received Buttercup Cow, because she loves all farm animals along with pigs!
I surprised my nephew with his new friends while we were on an end of summer trip. He took his friends with him everywhere we went!
Pockimal offers tees and dresses made with the pocket & button for sizes 3T- 8. They are 100% cotton so make sure to machine wash cold and tumble try low. Clean pockimals by spot cleaning with a damp cloth. If your children are like my nephew, pockimals made wind up in a tree, in a go-kart, or at the apple orchard, so cleaning might be a must!
Pockimals button into the tee or dress pocket. My nephew still struggles with sensory things like buttons, so this is a good experience for him to grow into his motor skills.
Don't forget to check out the book bags made especially for pockimals. 3 of your friends can fit into the book bag's pockets!
While I don't recommend taking your pockimal to school, as they can be easily lost, stolen, or your child can get in trouble with teachers for not paying attention, these new pocket-sized plush friends will become your child's favorite play thing. They are small enough to go anywhere, but fun enough to be creative and use wonderful imaginations. They can help develop sensory and motor skills, help develop creativity in free play, and help alleviate anxiety. This school year, grab a pockimal to help your child make his/her way through new situations to inspire creative play, and even help with sensory and motor skills.
