Happiness That's Made in the Shade

Our Home Renovation Update:

We've got a shade garden bed going in today. This side of the house receives morning sun and afternoon shade and is shaded by a glorious old magnolia tree. This bed contains hostas, hydrangeas, Lenten rose, and impatients. All of my shady favorites! Fresh dirt, mulch & landscaping stones coming up next.

Before- a blank slate.

I don't waste time when it comes to landscaping new properties. We transplanted over 50 perennials from our previous homes... and probably have 50+ more to plant. I need to get everything planted so I don't lose my plant babies. Some are nearly 12 years old, like rose bushes, etc. I'm pretty attached to them. This home had ZERO landscaping... a blank canvas for a gardener is so exciting! I drew out my landscaping plans as soon as we closed and we got right to work. I cannot wait to add a swing to the magnolia tree for my kids to enjoy.

TIP: Landscaping adds INSTANT curb appeal and increases your home value. Doing even a little bit of landscaping can make a huge difference.

To me, there's no better way to say I'VE ARRIVED than by landscaping and adding outdoor elements to your home. It gives any property a sunny lift. Remember- your outdoor space is a part of your home, too. Make it yours and enjoy!
