Hair Products For Mom That Are Vegan, Cruelty-Free And Help The Environment: Number 4 High Performance Hair Care

1. Pick Products with Eco-Friendly Packaging

It’s no secret that plastic pollution and deforestation is a problem. One thing consumers can do is choose brands that use sustainable packaging. Did you know that round bottles use more packaging in transport than square ones? Not only do we think our rectangular bottles look chic, we sleep better knowing they fit together more efficiently, reducing waste. Our beautiful bottles are also refillable and recyclable, and our packaging contains FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified Paper and soy ink. This means the packaging was sourced in an environmentally-friendly, and socially responsible manner.

2. Buy in Bulk

Buying in bulk is known for being economical, but it’s also eco-friendly. Buying things in bulk cuts out a portion of the packaging; reducing the waste in landfills. Plus, when you buy in larger quantities, you don't need to go to the store as often, meaning you drive less. Ordering bulk online means you'll order less, thus reducing delivery truck CO2 emissions. 3. Choose Cruelty-Free and Vegan Products

Many people think cruelty-free and vegan are synonymous, but they're not. Cruelty-free means the product was never tested on animals. Vegan means there are no animal by-products in the formula. For example, Squalene which is derived from shark liver, is a common cosmetic ingredient. Millions of sharks have been killed for this purpose, leading to many shark species becoming endangered. Number 4 is proud to be vegan, cruelty-free, and Squalene-free.

When you choose to buy cruelty-free, not only are you preventing harm to animals, you're also helping the planet. Labs that test on animals create large and unnecessary amounts of waste and carbon emissions. Cruelty-free products also typically use less harmful chemicals. 4. Find Aerosol Alternatives

While we love a good aerosol hair spray as much as anyone, non-aerosol spray is better for Mother Nature. When used sparingly, aerosol sprays aren't a significant issue, but using them often can contribute to global warming. This is because aerosol containers require chemicals known as propellants. Propellants often include Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), a main culprit in the formation of smog.
