The Legend of the Flying Pie Meats US Cusine with G'Day Gourmet #MBPHGG21 #REVIEW

Thanks to G'Day Gourmet for sending the Sampler Pack in exchange for my review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There is something about a classic pot pie when the weather turns cold. The flaky crust, the gooey center filled with rich meats, sauces, and veggies fills a tummy and soul up. This winter, add G'Day Gourmet to your list of meat pies!

G'Day Gourmet is an American- based company that aims to bring classic Australian pies into the ovens.. and stomachs.. of everyone across the US. Using family recipes passed through the generations, the pies from G'Day Gourmet are filled with meats, sauces, and veggies unlike no other. Owner Chef Michael Peacock found a passion for making these pies after his family immigrated to the US. His love has extended to the creation of a food truck, catering, and expanding his business across the US by shipping frozen Aussie Meat Pies.

Here's what I like: they are made specifically for the individual! No more figuring out how to freeze all the leftovers from the Mrs. Calendars chicken pot pie.. cause after all, American pot pies are typically large! Now, for the large family, this might seem expensive.. but check this out, you can order different types! If your family doesn't all like the same thing (let's be honest, we know that's true), then find a pie to suit everyone's tasting!

Or perhaps your youngest is heading back to their apartment after visiting for the holidays. Send them with their own pies that they can easily throw into the oven. It is really simple.. grab a baking sheet, pre-heat the oven, and put the pie in for about 40 mins!

I was sent a Sampler Pack to try out. It came with:

  • 1 Bacon and Cheddar Pie
  • 1 Chicken and Leek Pie
  • 1 Lamb and Rosemary Pie
  • 1 Steak and Stout Pie
  • 1 Spinach and Feta Pie
  • 1 Sausage Roll (the Sampler typically comes with 2 Sausage rolls, btw).
I must confess, I'm not really a "gravy" type of pie person. Chicken Pot Pies, Shepherd's Pie, etc while filling, have never really been my greatest meal ever.  So far, I've only tried the Spinach and Feta pie. If the rest are as delicious as that one, I can safely say that these Aussie pies are absolutely amazing!

In fact, the Spinach and Feta pie was so filling that I could only eat half of it! I did make a side of veggies to go with, because I am trying to keep up that health regime. The pie has spinach, feta, ricotta, and parmesan with garlic hidden inside this classic buttery pie crust. Y'all, the pie crust is amazing!

These aussie pies can be ordered online and shipping is included for most US States. Order and Ship Pies in 6, 8, 12, and Sampler Packs. Classic Sausage Rolls (something I'm extremely excited about) can be ordered in packs of 8!

As with anything these days, product and inventory may cause shipping delays, so go ahead and get yours early. Especially if you are planning on having these as simple meals during the holidays, or to send to loved ones who might not be able to get out to the grocery as easily.

If you ever find yourself in the Jersey/ Philly area, look up G'Day Gourmet's Food Truck. With baked pies, frozen pies, and of course.. what wouldn't be a pie without chips, you will have a filled belly as soon as you consume these great creations!
