After reading an article about how the British used to add roasted fig to coffee during World War II to make it last longer, FigBrew’s founder started to experiment with different figs and different roasting and grinding profiles. He was blown away by how well-roasted the fig is in its pure form. Figs are part of a Mediterranean diet and are high in fiber, vitamins, and other nutrients.
Figgee can be enjoyed alone as a caffeine-free coffee alternative. It is mellow and full of flavor with healthy vitamins and minerals. It can also be added to your favorite coffee to add its health benefits while balancing out the harshness or bitterness. Figs are rich in soluble fiber, natural sugars, and minerals including potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, and copper and are a good source of antioxidant vitamins A and K that contribute to health and wellness. My husband and I enjoyed its rich, smooth, sweet, and tangy flavor.
