Celebrate National Dog Day with your best friend

National Dog Day is August 26th, and it's a day where we celebrate the unconditional love that our pets give to us. It's important to show them how much they mean to you!

We are so excited to celebrate National Dog Day! We have a list of fun dog-friendly activities for you to do with your pet. Plus some awesome products to share. Ready?

First up, why not give your doggie a SPA DAY! That's right, there are dogs out there that love to be groomed, not mine - he is so afraid of water.

Within this article, there are amazon affiliate links, but we only share things we love with all of you. If you happen to buy, we will make a small commission.

Give your dog a bath

The first thing (okay after you have your coffee) give your furbaby a BATH! Fill the tub with warm water and shampoo. There is some amazing dog shampoo you can use Natural Dog Shampoo from Rockwell Pets. Your doggie will stand out with its shiny fur and a healthy coat.

Also, make sure you get prepared for countless compliments in the dog park or just when walking down the street. But most important, relieve your fur baby from that itch and uncomfortableness. The ingredients are made from Aloe Vera, Hemp Seed, Argan Kernel, and Natural Willow, Meadowsweet, Chaparral, and Olive Extracts. We have used it once so far (we only give our dog a bath once a month), and oh my, it smelled so good, plus he wasn't itching as much as he normally does, so A+ for that!

A little tip I got from the VET- rinse with cold water to close the pores of the skin, which will help keep dirt from sticking to them after they dry off.

Give your pup a manicure and pedicure

On National Dog Day make give some extra LOVE in the paw department. Take your dog for a walk on some grassy areas, dirt paths, or gravel paths. This will allow the paws of your dog to loosen dry and cracked coatings from their feet.

When you get home, you can soak your dog’s paw pads in warm water with dog-friendly soap. Be sure to rinse thoroughly after this process. You can then use a metal cuticle tool or clipper to remove the loose top layer of the nail. Make sure to check your dog’s nails regularly and cut them straight across if they get too long.

Brush your dog's teeth

You will need a dog toothbrush and toothpaste. First, get the brush wet, and put it in the middle of your dog's mouth. Then get some toothpaste on it and scrub their teeth with the bristles. Keep brushing until the entire mouth is clean and shining. Next, rinse your dog's mouth with water.

It would be nice if you did this on a regular, not all pet owners think about their fur babies' teeth, but brushing will help eliminate the dog's bad breath, reduce tartar buildup, and whitening and brightening your dog's teeth.
Dress Your Dog Up

After the bath, manicure, and teeth brushing, it's time to get dressed up! Well, that is if you have a dog that will wear clothes. My kids want to dress up our Harley in cute shirts they see for big dogs, but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't even let us. If you have a dog that won't wear clothes, how about a Bandana? So cute!

Spoil Your Dog With NEW TOYS!

Dog toys come in many shapes and sizes, but most importantly, they offer different stimulation to your pup. For example:

  • Squeakers to keep their mouths busy
  • Furry, stuffed animals for some cuddling
  • A long strip of fabric for some tugging fun
  • A sturdy rubber ball with a hole for playing fetch

If you have a puppy who is teething, you need to check out Sweet Paws--a line of ultra-stylish and highly durable silicone bracelets designed with your best four-legged friend in mind. These bracelet stacks are the perfect go-to gift for any pandemic pup in your life, and looking ahead to holiday gift guides, an amazing stocking stuffer! Wearable puppy teether. They actually are cute bracelets. They are 100% food-grade silicone, free of phthalates, lead, and BPA, veterinarian recommended and made in the USA.

Take Your Dog for a Swim

One of the best ways to show your dog that you care is to take them for a swim. Swimming is good exercise, too! If you have a beach or lake nearby, take them and watch how much fun they will have in the water.
Play Ball

If you're a dog owner, then you know playing fetch with your dog is one of the best ways to bond and show your love for them. Dogs are intelligent animals, and they love playtime because they need mental stimulation.

It's also a great form of physical activity for your pup, especially if they've been cooped up in the house all day. So if you want to have the best time with your canine companion, both of you must play together at least twice a day. That way, you'll always be able to keep their attention and entertain them as well!

Give your dog Probiotics and Vitamins

I know not a lot of fun, BUT it shows your dog that you care and want only the best for them. Did you know that giving your dog probiotics helps them digest food and provides more energy? Some people believe that only dogs trained in advanced obedience classes deserve extra nutrients, but that's not true. All dogs deserve to be healthy!

Rockwell Pets Pro Natural Dog Probiotics (probios = for life) favorably influence the microflora composition in your dog’s intestine and promote holistic health. Which then improves your dog's gut health for a strong immune system, naturally.

Rockwell Pets Pro Natural Dog Vitamins Boost your dog's immune system. The antioxidants strengthen the immune system and eliminate free radicals. Rockwell Pets Pro Natural Dog Vitamins will make your dog's days of play well worth it. This will give them the healthy and energetic life they deserve.

You may not realize this, but a dog's health is largely dependent on certain nutrients, which if absent may result in a long list of problems such as skin, hair, or teeth issues. Giving your dog vitamins will help improve their immune system and give them a better sense of wellbeing. It can also help balance their moods if they're under stress like allergies or arthritis. No matter what life throws at your pup, giving them the needed nutrients will help make it easier for them to get through it! Keep Things CLEAN!

Now this one might be more for YOU but give your house a good clean! Finding the right cleaning products to use around your dog can be a daunting task. With so many options available, it's hard to know which one is best for you and your fur baby!

No matter what kind of messes come home with Fido from his adventures in town, just simply spray them away with an uplifting citrus scent. I've been going a bit crazy with this cleaner since it does such an amazing job. They even have WIPES!
