15 months ago, our world became still and quiet due to the Covid- 19 Pandemic. All of us have been affected- emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. While the way we did life together changed, one thing that did not change was God's great amazing love for us. God's love has been constant, standing strong with us no  matter what we encounter in this world.

This Summer, it's time to stand up and give thanks. Give thanks for God's faithfulness, give thanks for our blessings, and give thanks for our friends and family. It's also time to gather back together with our faith communities, ready to stand strong, to worship, and to praise! If you haven't been to a concert full of faithful music, artists, and worship before, now is your opportunity!

Chris Tomlin, Kari Jobe, Bethel Music with Special Guest Cody Carnes will be kicking off one amazing tour that will bring music, lyrics, and scripture that will revive and fill our souls with passion and enthusiasm. They will bring their passions, songs, and music to one of the 13 tour dates to a venue near you, so make sure you get it on your calendars now!

Check out the Promo Video below!

Not only am I excited at the opportunity to finally have gatherings, I am excited at the opportunity to worship together! As a Church youth leader, it brings me great strength to be part of a community that passionate worships Christ, with artists that live out their faith and love what they do.

Chris Tomlin

Chris Tomlin's music has been present in my life many years, through college and youth retreats with Campus Ministries, Younglife, and of course the radio.

In recent years, I was introduced to Bethel Music during our annual youth assembly and at summer camp. The worship leader used Bethel Music's songs in our daily worship and one in particular stuck out to me.

Reckless Love by Bethel Music Collective

Reckless Love, made its debut in 2017. Written by Cory Asbury, member of Bethel Music Collective, it describes the relationship between God and us, God's children.

While difficult to describe, every time I hear this song- at camp, on the radio, in a youth retreat, it seems to speak to me.

The Chorus lyrics describe a God that will do anything to restore relationship with us, sharing love, mercy and grace to us.

"Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God,
Oh, it chases me down, fights ‘til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine.
I couldn’t earned it, I don’t deserve it, still You give Yourself away.
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God'

Some people hear the "reckless" portion of this song and get turned off, but that is one of the lyrics that draws me in. Reckless means to think or act without care of consequences. One could argue that God is not reckless- God, as creator, knows what God is doing.

Yet, I argue that God's love is reckless. Knowing no bounds, no limits, no consequences God's love is freely given to us. We don't have to earn it, we don't deserve it, and honestly, we don't have to do anything to receive it.. God just freely gives, freely chases us, because God loves.

Bethel Music Collective

The song goes even further to describe how much God fights for us- just for us to be able to see, experience, and feel God's love. This world, full of sin and pain, distracts us from the truth. It distracts us from a love full of hope, full of life. Yet, God doesn't give up. God loves us so much that God fought for us!

All throughout the Old Testament, there are stories of God not giving up on his people despite the selfish ways they turned against him. All through the New Testament, there are stories of God not giving up on his people despite the way that they treat Jesus, his Son. In the end, God doesn't give up and God wins.

"There's no shadow You won't light up
Mountain You won't climb up
Coming after me
There's no wall You won't kick down
Lie You won't tear down
Coming after me"

God is there, ready and waiting. No matter how much I might fight, how much I might resist, how much I might turn away- God is there. God doesn't give up on me.

The reason this song speaks to me so much is that it's a powerful reminder that while, I can't do anything to earns God's love, it's freely given to me. As a youth director, this is a powerful thing to teach a teenager and watch them grasp during a weekend retreat, during a week of camp, during their young formative years. As an adult, this is a powerful thing to grapple with internally, as I continue to strive who God has made me to be and live into God's calling for me. I know I've often messed up, turned away, and been driven by my own desires.. but no matter the outcome, God is there waiting.

It also makes me think about how much I am willing to give up. Am I willing to climb over mountains (figuratively or literally), kick down walls, tear down lies, and go after people in order for the right to share the Gospel, the Good News? To share God's love?

This past year has been a reminder that God's love continues to fight against pain, death, and sin. Jesus' life, death, and resurrection ultimately won against death and sin, but this world we live in still exists. We are still in a world separated from God, separated from restored relationships, separated from true life found in Christ. We live in a world that is full of lies, full of pain, and full of death. Covid-19 has sparked even further tension, causing us to need God's love that much deeper.

Kari Jobe

It is exciting to know that our Christian Music Artists have still been making music, waiting for the day when we can proclaim God's love, God's faithfulness together. When we can proclaim that God won't leave us or abandon us, no matter what fears of the earth we experience.
