5 Appetizers to Make for Your Next Dinner Party

Dinner parties put us to the test, taking time to plan and create beautiful meals while also trying to entertain our guests.  Although some may find it stressful, others say hosting is advantageous.  The top thing you should want to do is contemplate and pleasantly surprise.  These appetizers are delicious ways to invite the partygoers into your home and prepare them for the tasty meal you have planned.

Spicy Tuna Cucumber Bites

Mix canned tuna with mayo and the hot sauce of your choice.  The proportions of this depend on your sauce, but it's essential that it stays thick and doesn't get watery.  Thickly cut cucumber, and then scoop a neat spoonful of tuna mix onto each slice.  Garnish with a couple of thin slices of green onion, and serve!

Crispy Polenta Fries

This recipe is a little more involved, but it's worth it for how delicious these fries turn out.  Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, and cut a tube of polenta into your preferred fry shape and size.  Dip the polenta into an egg, and then roll it in panko bread crumbs.  Repeat if necessary until the polenta has a nice crust on it.  Spray a cookie sheet down with nonstick cooking spray, and then spread the polenta out.  Bake for ten to fifteen minutes until they're starting to gain a golden color.  Dip in a savory and sweet sauce like bacon jam for the best effect.

Greek Salad Skewers

On sturdy toothpicks, string on a combination of chopped red onion, tomato, a black olive, mozzarella, and a slice of cucumber.  This appetizer is straightforward because the ingredients deserve to shine here.  Serve with a mustard sauce for dipping!

Buffalo Chicken Nachos

The fun part of this recipe is that you can crockpot it!  Place one cup of buffalo wing sauce, two raw chicken breasts, and half of a large onion thinly chopped into a crockpot, and cook on low for six hours or on high for three to four.  Shred chicken meat when cooked.  Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil, and spread an even layer of tortilla chips out.  Drain black beans, and spread them out over chips.  Spread buffalo chicken out over chips as well.  Sprinkle a cup of your cheese, of course, over this, and then broil on low for three to five minutes until the cheese is bubbling and before the chips singe.

Stuffed Mini Peppers

If you love stuffed bell peppers, this recipe is for you.  Mix a cup of cooked quinoa with a can of black beans (including liquids), a small can of tomato paste, a tablespoon of Italian seasoning, half of a tablespoon of red pepper flakes, a tablespoon of vegetable or chicken bouillon, half a cup of cheddar, and a cup of whatever vegetable you prefer.  Cut the stems off of the mini peppers and spoon in as much filling as each of them will take.  Stand these tip-down in oven-safe ramekins, and bake at 350 for twenty minutes.  Serve with a sour cream dip.
