Weekends with the Wigglesworths- 3 Things I Dislike Most About 4-Day Weekends!

Happy Saturday, friends! If the title caught your attention and you thought that seemed a little "off-brand" for me, it totally is. Don't worry though, it's (mostly) just for giggles. After 6+ years of consistently writing blog posts every single Saturday, sometimes the ideas just don't flow as easily as they used to. I know I often write about how excited I am when 4-day weekends grace us with their presence, but there are some downsides too. So, without further ado, here are the 3 things I dislike most about 4 day weekends!

1.  False Hope
I see things all week that I want to accomplish on a weekend. I make a list and since I know a 4-day weekend is coming up, I'm full of hope that I will check almost everything off. The 4-day weekend begins and I spend the first day "taking it easy" because I have 3 weekend days left to accomplish everything. Also, I have it on good authority that... okay, it's a TikTok Video (I choose to accept this information as accurate)....my brain wants me to be lazy!

The second day is spent checking the easiest things off the list, the third day I need to relax from all the work of the second day, and the fourth day I need to relax before going back to our regular routine. Boom, most of the 4-day weekend just gone!

2. Even 4-Day Weekends Aren't Long Enough!
This one is pretty much a continuation of the first thing I dislike about 4-day weekends. Even the times I'm able to have myself completely on task during one of these magical weekends, the only real magic I sense is how it managed to disappear so quickly. They might sound good, but really 4-day weekends end up feeling just as short as their typical Saturday/Sunday counterparts.

3. I'm Still In Charge/Responsible for Others
I am a mom and I love being a mom. My girls are precious to me, but MOMMY NEEDS A LITTLE BREAK. I'm the only adult in the house Monday-Friday for a large portion of the day. On weekends I'd like to take advantage of having another adult in the house and have uninterrupted me time, but it doesn't usually work out that way.

Well, there you have it. A not so comprehensive list about all that is wrong (in my opinion) with 4-day weekends. I promise this post is all in good fun. I'm looking forward to the days where we can go adventuring again and I can share more 'on-brand' moments with you.

Have a spectacular Saturday!
