Weekends with the Wigglesworths- Practicing a Lot of Self Care This Year

Happy Saturday, friends! We made it to the weekend and I'm ready to recharge with my little family. This weekend, recharging will include taking another digital device/social media break, playing lots of board/card games, and maybe going for a short hike if we can stand the weather. I didn't really make a resolution this year, but one of my goals is to practice more self-care. 
Self-care, to me, looks like setting an earlier bed-time for myself so that I can have a good night's sleep. It looks like staying off of my phone and away from social media, going outside for short walks, reading books, learning new skills (like how to use my Cricut and make things) playing board games with my kids, re-watching favorite TV shows with my husband, and watching old ones I've never seen before by myself.   

Last year was crazy, for everyone. This year has started off on a horrible note, but I'm refusing to give it the power to be anywhere near as bad as last year. I'm going to do all that I am able to in order to keep last year's funk away from this year's flow. For me, that means starting with self-care and teaching my girls how to practice better self-care so that when they are older it's not such a struggle.
