Everything You Need To Know About DC's Stargirl

Superhero fans are counting down the days until the premiere of the second season of Stargirl, executive-produced by Geoff Johns. The series features Courtney Whitmore, a teenager who fights crime under the name Stargirl and her stepdad, Pat Dugan, who acts as her sidekick. Together, they team up with the Justice Society of America and defeat evil villains.

Premise

After discovering that her new stepfather used to be the sidekick to the Star-Spangled Kid, Courtney Whitmore goes from being a normal teenager to Stargirl, crime-fighting superhero. With the help of her stepdad, S.T.R.I.P.E., and other teenage superheroes, Stargirl must take on evil villains to save the world. Since she wasn't born with superpowers of her own, Courtney draws strength, speed, the ability to fly, and other powers from a staff once belonging to Starman and her cosmic converter belt that once belonged to the Star-Spangled Kid.

Cast

Viewers were thrilled by the performances of the cast in Season One. Brec Bassinger, of School of Rock and The Goldbergs, plays Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl. It's clear to see why she got the part because her performance is spectacular. Her believable performance brings the character to life, making you root for her every step of the way. Luke Wilson, who you'd probably recognize as Emmett from Legally Blonde, plays the stepfather, Pat Dugan/S.T.R.I.P.E. He does an excellent job portraying the lovable father and sidekick. Other stars include Amy Smart as Barbara Whitmore, Joel McHale as Starman, and Louis Ferrigno Jr. as Hourman.

Characters

One of the best things about this series is the integration of the other heroes from the Justice Society of America. These characters are newer, younger versions of their first-generation Justice Society counterparts. Some of the most noteworthy heroes are Wildcat II, the combat fighter; Dr. Mid-Nite II, who has night vision; and Hourman II, who has the ability to see into the short-term future. Season One featured a team of villains called the Injustice Society, but fans can expect to see some new villains in Season Two.

Season One

Season one of Stargirl included thirteen episodes that received high praise from critics and audiences. The series has been described as delightful, fresh, and dynamic by reviewers. The brilliant execution of the first season left fans hungry for more. You can catch up with Season One on the CW app.

Season Two

Season Two is expected to air in 2021 on the CW and the CW app. The majority of the cast of Season One will be returning, but there will be new villains. The new season will also consist of thirteen episodes. The official trailer for the second season is now available, so check it out as soon as you can. Exciting times are ahead with this ever more popular series.

After the overwhelmingly positive response to the first season of Stargirl, the second installment can't come fast enough. Fans will be eagerly waiting for Brec Bassinger, Luke Wilson, and their costars to grace their TV screens yet again, delivering an upbeat and fresh superhero story like no other.
